Liquid gold

Nothing is safe these days. Nail down your possessions. Lock your doors. Watch over your animals 24/7. Leave nothing to chance. Desperate times means everything is a target for theft. Now it's diesel. Lorries are being targeted for their fuel, tanks are being drilled to empty them. Depot's are being broken into overnight.

Truck & Driver@TrucknDriver·With the huge increase in the price of fuel, there's obviously going to be a huge increase in thieving vermin. This is a list of places where thefts have been noted.

The Scumbags have upped the anti, 16000 litres nicked last night from a local haulage company in Newcastle, like liquid gold now and just going to get worse
An astonishing 16000 litres of diesel stolen in Newcastle upon Tyne. Worrying. That's organised crime, wonder where the fuel goes. How long would that take to pump into IBCs?
The truck is a DAF CF 4X2 Space can, looks like quite an early model.

It looks like it is going to be a sunny day today. I need to be outside. We'll catch up later. Toodle pip. ilona

  1. The term liquid gold is correct, Ilona, as diesel has just reached £1.897 per litre near us. The thieves are disgusting and I hope they get caught.

  4. I put petrol in my car on Thursday. It was £1.55 a litre, which I think is not bad. I expect to see it go up.
