Scrappy patchwork bag

A friend from Crafty Club offered me a pile of small cotton fabric pieces left over from her sewing projects. They have been sitting in a plastic box on my table for ages. I keep going back to them. It passes half an hour or so to do a bit of stitching.

A lot of them are a similar width, so I have been sewing them into strips by hand.
Join four strips together and make a patchwork bag. Sew the sides together with blanket stitch. The lining and strap is the excess from a curtain which I cut down to fit the kitchen window. A narrow strip of velcro holds the top together.
Another handy little pocket to wear under or over a jacket.
Still lots of small scrappy pieces left. it is never ending. Looking like a nice day today. Thanks for popping in, we'll catch up soon. Toodle pip.  ilona

  1. Beautiful bag Ilona and very handy for small items such as a phone purse key lip balm or any small items you want to bring around for a small trip but worn with safety of coarse under a jacket or long cardigan/hoodie etc. Very colourful and well made x

  3. Lovely bag. How do you stay motivated to do all the things you do. I make list of things to do everyday but I like it maybe half of them done cuz I get tired at age 73. What's your secret?

  4. You have just reminded me of what I forgot to take with me on my long walk today...my small over the shoulder bag!.Mine is a vintage leather one and I usually take it to hold my bus pass, mask, hair brush ect.But today I only took my small backpack, with a drink and sandwiches in it.Ive just realised after getting back from doing 9 miles, that I had to keep fiddling in my backpack to get my stuff out!.Hasnt it been a lovely day today....well it is in Leicester for a change!.I love how you continue to make something out of bits and bobs!xx
