Happy Birthday Lisa.

Good afternoon.
This morning it was back to normal after the Christmas break. We start the year at Crafty Club with a Birthday. The lovely Lisa is 50. She had lots of presents to unwrap. There was 13 of us in attendance, plus one cute little sausage dog which Becci brought with her. Lots of food to scoff, lots of cake.
The mood was jolly, not much crafting was done, but I wanted to add a few more stitches to the mandala. A glass of wine, a slice of pizza, some nibbles, and cake. That will be my lunch today, don't need to make any.

Monday morning in a warm Village Hall. Perfect.

Now it's almost 3pm and I must take Billy a walk before darkness arrives.

Thanks for popping in. See ya soon. Toodle pip.   ilona

    1. I would say she could pass for 41 - 42 ish. I admire Lisa. Without getting into personal details, she has a long term illness and spends a lot of time in a wheelchair. Her strong family ethos keeps her going.

    2. Hi, Oh I see, that's sad,... I wondered why she was at the morning craft club and not at work !!! She looks early 40's, nice to have a mix of ages, I find women 'my age' ! i.e. post-menopausal are grumpy, bitchy and negative,.... unless they are on HRT, in which case they are too busy chasing men !!! ha ha.

  2. Starting the new year off with a bang! Happy Birthday to you friend, what a great celebration. 🎉 We are having warmer temperatures here on my side of the pond this week. In my area at least. We are due a really good snow. The past couple of years have been pretty mild.

  3. Today's people look so much younger than my Grandparents generation. I'm now the age that I remember my Granny the most. She had a blue rinse, a string of pearls, twinset, tweed skirt and wore sensible lace ups. She looked like a Granny, lol.

Rationing, a world war, and grinding hard work makes all the difference.

I retired a month short of my 66th birthday but after our retirement age of 65. Still trying to find my new life. I've tried seniors groups near me but they are not my people. They are older and have known each other for years and not welcoming. I'd love a village hall to try

    1. You are right about people looking younger these days. My granny was a wrinkled old lady who always had a fag hanging out of her mouth. She made lovely jam tarts. At the other end of the scale my friend became a grandma at thirty something. She is now a great grandma.

I much prefer village life for the community aspect of it. I am sure there are groups of people who meet up in towns as well. I tried walking in a group several times, but it isn't for me. Too much yackerty yack. I am not a pubby person either.

    1. I think morning meetings in a warm place is very much a winter activity. Come spring and summer most of us will be going off on trips outdoors somewhere.
