Snap happy + banking + art

Good morning. No video today. I sat with my other Canon outside while I drank my coffee. What can I see from my chair.
Home made plastic cd flowers in my home made raised bed.
Many birds playing in the trees. Mainly pigeons and blackbirds. Slight breeze.
The sun is coming up behind the trees.

I've pumped up the saturation on this one to show the contrast between black and red.

Sometimes they land on the hedge quite close to me. Got to be quick to click the shutter though.

Back indoors. I am playing around with these swirls, trying the find the most pleasing and eye catching arrangement for a wall hanging. Do I squash them together or space them out apart? Erm, several stages to go through yet. Can't rush these things.
I went to the Bank Hub yesterday in town. There are two interview rooms in the Library which are used by banking staff to speak to customers. The lady introduced herself as Kim. I had several questions to ask her about the card they sent me. I can ignore the leaflet they sent me about scanning codes, and registering pin numbers. The new card looks different from the old one, so I wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything sneaky embedded into it. I will not be swept along with everyone else, and do as I am told.

She reassured me that I can carry on using my own banking methods to keep control of my account. I have had the same pin number for years, don't have to change it. I will keep getting paper statements in the post, they will keep coming. I pointed out to her that they are easy to check, no nasty surprises. I will not be tap tapping the card anywhere. It stays safe at home, only coming out when I need to top up my pocket money spends.

Kim was quite pleasant and listened while I explained the reasoning behind my methods. She said, fine, carry on as you are. This is what a customer service person from a bank, or any establishment providing a service or goods, should be like. Willing to listen to the customer who is paying their wages. This is why I won't do internet banking, or internet shopping, and won't monetise my blog or yoootooob channel.

Let's move on. I will get my breakfast. Thanks for popping in.

Have a good weekend. Toodle pip. ilona

  1. So very true ilona. Keeping money in. The bank keeps them in a Job.. it's nice when you get a cashier these days to listen. Banks very rarely have a teller behind a counter nowadays taking Cash. All done via a payment machine. I hate it.. I'm like you do not want my savings on a contacless bank card. It's too risky. Not for me.. I'm a ludite.people like us are looked at like aliens wil, not change my financial wats to suit them No no no ! but that's just the way I am .are you feeling better ilona ❤️ ..Best wishes Levi x 🇬🇧 your long time supporter of your Blog/youtubèèè.

    1. Hello Levi. The older I get, the more stubborn I become.

  2. I am very pleased to hear that the banking lady listened to you as many people are dismissive now they have no time to listen and talk when my dad was alive he loved the post coming through the letter box with his bank statement etc he said he liked opening letters addressed to him even if it was a bill.I miss the old days Ilona when every thing was simpler and cleaner.I know we still have lots to be gratefully for and happy about but life moves at a very fast pace now while I feel I'm slowing up lolxx

    1. I crave for simplicity. Now there are umpteen hoops to jump through. It's enough to fry your brain.

  3. Your photos are just wonderful Ilona. Love those CD flowers & loving all the bronze autumnal colours. I spent AGES on the phone listening to a machine the other day, trying to get through to my bank & speak to an actual person. I was pleasant but I can truly see why people end up getting so frustrated & raising their voice by the time they finally get to a real person. Wishing you a great weekend Ilona.

    1. I hate ringing anyone when you know it's going to be complicated. Amazingly I wasn't waiting long when I rang EE, but the music screeching in my ear was awful.

    1. Underneath the curtain are two scruffy doors which needed painting. My friend gave me the curtain, thus saving me a job. Yes, it does look like a cottage, till the wind wafts over it. Not seen from a distance though.

  5. Beautiful pictures from your chair view. Lots to see. So glad your customer service person was so helpful. You can carry on as per your usual. I’m also anxiously waiting to see what your mind works out for the new art piece. Hope you’re gaining more energy every day. Carry on mother I’m listening.
