What I did yesterday

Good moaning, ooops sorry, morning. Forgot myself for a minute. 😁😘😵
This is the house on the corner of where I parked yesterday to start a litter pick. The people love having birds in their garden, and scatter copious amounts of bird seed to encourage them to come on in. It's nosh time.
Every time something disturbed them they took flight. I tried to capture them in the air and almost got run over by traffic coming around the corner. Good job I had my yellow vest on.

Like a scene from an Alfred Hitchcock's film.
I planned to do a short stretch of road that I hadn't had time to finish on Saturday. It is never as easy as you think it might be. A lot of the litter was partially buried in the long grass. Some people only use the red bags, but they are very heavy when full. I have my own method. Fill two carrier bags first, walk back to the car, then empty them into the red sack. I did this up and down method twice, First one side, then the other.
Oooh look what I found.
There is a bus shelter with a litter bin next to it, so that's where I left my two bags. The Council will be along today to take them away. I will check on that later, as well as the two other piles I parked elsewhere.
Remember the video I did on the possible next location for picking? The grottiest spot I have ever seen, it's on and Industrial Estate. Well it came up on the Scunthorpe pickers page last night. Someone has been to sort it out. Oh gooodie I thought, I don't have to do it. But, reading the report more closely it seems that they didn't do the whole length of it. Yes, they got 18 bags out, but there is still a lot left. I will go and have a look, to see if there is more to be done.
Now I need to wash my hair before I go to Crafty Club.
Thanks for popping in. Catch ya later. Toodle pip.    ilona

  1. Good moaning ilona !!! ha ha ha,... I'll have to go an dig out my Allo Allo dvd's now, god that was a funny series (well the first series anyway, went a bit down hill after that - got too farcical). I watched a video as the weekend and the 2 main characters/the couple were called ilona and Nikander (it was a 1986 Finnish film,.. subtitled called Shadows in Paradise, part of a trillogy called Fallen Leaves,.. ) they pronounced your name as Eeee Lone ah. It was a romance, set in the 80's so quite nice an nostalgic for me. from Norma in Stafford.

  2. I would think the house with all the birds gets plenty of fertilizer 😳. I hope others in your village are working as hard as you.

  3. Last year Tony and I cleared all the grass and weeds that were growing in the gutter from the bottom of our road up to our house. Some people moaned and said it was the council's job and we were doing people out of a job?????. Some people asked if I was doing the whole road. Some asked if we'd go and do their street too. If everyone did a little bit then our towns would be so much neater.
