All you need are...... .skips.

Isn't it amazing what you can find in a skip. Last week I spotted one on someone's front driveway, looks interesting I thought, so I asked permission to take a closer look. Among other things, I found a strobe disco lighting box, plug it in and a floating Merry Christmas appears all over the walls. What fun is that.

See the white slimline stack of drawers , that was out of another skip. I don't need to go shopping ever again, everything I need or want can be found in a skip, eventually.  ilona

  1. What a lot of fun You can have with the disco lights. I love that little set of drawers. The only skip I have seen in the village was when somebody was having a new bathroom.

  2. You're a woman after my own heart! I love your drawers! Not quite in the same league of finds but last week while out on one of my walks, I found an XL 10litre can of white emulsion, 1/3 full... just what I need as I'm planning a bit of Spring decorating. Love skips!!!

  4. You did well with your finds! I saw a solid wooden cabinet in front of a skip on a driveway a couple of weeks ago. I asked permission to take it and now it stands proudly in my bathroom. :)

  5. Two nice matching bedside lamps went into next door’s skip years ago but the lady from the house almost opposite beat me to it!

  6. Very rarely see a skip in the countryside, we are all too mean to throw anything away!!

  7. Great finds! Though I don't understand why people throw away functioning and usable items. They could be donated to a charity shop or given away free on Freecycle or similar to have continued life with a new family, instead of going to landfill. I am glad that you are able to rehome/recycle items that would otherwise be buried as rubbish.

It is amazing at what people throw away. I live in a condominium complex so we have 5 dumpsters (skips) on the property. We have a sizable amount of renters here so when it gets near the end of the month and tenants get ready to move lots of great stuff magically appears. They'll even leave it outside the dumpster for others to take.Sometimes you might have to fix something a little but that's not a problem with me.
