Winterton Agricultural Show

I couldn't make my mind up this morning, should I go to the Winterton Show, or not bother. I have been before, several times. Would there be anything different this year. You could say this show is well established, it's been going for 152 years. Rain was forecast for the weekend, it's a two day show, so I went today, just in case it rains tomorrow. I was lucky. There was a heavy shower so I retreated into one of the large tents until it passed over.
I parked my car at the opposite end of Winterton, because I wanted to walk a good distance as well. Outside the Co op the majorettes were practising their moves. Further on as I walked to the Showground they came up behind me. I quickly swapped cameras and recorded a video of the whole parade. I'll post that tomorrow when I get it uploaded.
There was a lot going on to keep everyone entertained. Horses, cattle, sheep, vintage tractors, classic cars, archery, demonstrations in the ring, as well as a lot of charity and trade stands, plus of course the Funfair, and food stalls. I had a good look around the Enterprise Tent and the Craft Tent.
Embroidery in a hoop.
A purse made with lollypop sticks.

Hand painted mandala.

Wreaths for every season.

Paintings of animals, by children.
Collage by children.

Photography competition.

Teddy bears wearing hand knitted costumes.
This is fantastic. Models of an old derelict garage and vintage trucks, all hand made. The detail is amazing.

Only two big custom trucks. This Peterbilt is a beauty.

After the heavy shower the sun came out. A nice end to the day. I had a walk around the rest of Winterton to top up my miles. Pleased that I made the effort to go.

Thanks for popping in. Enjoy your Sunday. Toodle pip.   ilona
