Come along dear.

Good morning. I've pinched the title of Dan and Stephen's yoootooob channel for the heading of this post. I set the camera up on the dash board as I was driving to Howden on Sunday. I don't have a dashcam or anything fancy like that. It is 18 minutes long, too long really, seven hours to upload, but as I don't edit videos, raw footage is what you get.
UK followers of my blog may not want to watch, but oversees visitors may be interested in a snippet of the English countryside. The engine humming in the background is a bit annoying, but I am not going to buy an electric car to solve that problem.
I see that Rachel has taken a step back from posting on her blog. That's a shame because a lot of what she says is good old fashioned common sense. A rare commodity in blogland. Standing up for yourself when the norm is seen as congregating together and patting each other on the back, is always going to be an uphill struggle. One should never compromise by stifling one's own opinions of subjects that matter. Rachel, be the leader, not the follower. Or maybe I have got it wrong and you have found something better to do. I hope so.
I have some photo's of Howden. I'll post them soon.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

    1. People who write blogs have their own reasons for doing so. Some may be short lived, some may go on for many years. Some bloggers have breaks and some may come back again. If someone doesn't feel a particular activity is right for them then they should stop doing it. I hope Rachel has found a new interest.

  3. Let’s hope it is just she is too busy with her Masters and new love life. Don’t forget her last few posts were about her date and his interest in more from the relationship. Let’s hope she’s getting laid!

    1. I would not speculate about her personal life. At the age of 76 my days of getting laid are long gone.

    2. Rachel always commented how she looked much younger than her years and people were very surprised when they found out her real age.

I would never have mentioned it had she not speculated and the confirmed her date was looking to take the relationship up to another level.

    3. This is the whole problem with social media. People hang onto your every word, and their interpretation of a conversation from way back stays embedded in the mind forever. You don't know me, you don't know Rachel. You think you do but you don't. Shall we just wait and see if she comes back. Just from your insistence that you don't declare your name, makes me suspicious of you.

  4. I really miss Rachel’s blog and hope she returns. Initially I thought it was just me who couldn’t access it. I hope she’s ok as it’s worrying when someone disappears from blogland. I haven’t seen her commenting on other blogs either..

    1. It's a rare thing when someone writes from the heart. Sugar coating what needs to be said, just doesn't work.

  5. It is good to know that others are missing Rachel’s blog too. I was waiting to see people comment on it. Other than a question on Due from Suffolks blog (great blog) this is the first discussion I have seen.

I hope she is happy and well.

  7. I so enjoyed the ride along. Your camera setting was great. And the ride was smooth. What a shame about the trash on the road sides. I don’t understand why people can’t do the right thing. In our community we have a free day at our landfill once a month. People can get rid of their unwanted items. But yet we still see things around on the roadsides. I suppose there will always be those personalities.

We here in the US we are having such uproar! I wish people could protest orderly and be open to listening to others without violence. I suppose we will always have those personalities too.

We will just continue to live our lives in a rural/country area. We are blessed to be far away from the madness.
Take care mother!! Thanks again for taking us along.

    1. I see what is happening in the US. Peaceful protesting has almost gone. People shout louder and become more violent when things are not going their way. It all stems from the globalist plan of divide and conquer. They want us to fight against each other. Mixing cultures from different countries is never going to work. People are protective of their own territory, so when others are moved about en masse they feel they are losing their identity. The trouble is that if it is allowed to go on the troubles will escalate, and the only way back is to put up barriers. How that is done is a matter of opinion.
