St John the Baptist Church.

Good morning. I will press on with the photo's from my Friday visit to Gainsborough. The scenic route from Scunthorpe follows the River Trent through several villages. On my map it is the B1216. The first one is Burringham. I have walked this route before, in the opposite direction. Seven days, 119 miles. I remember stopping for a break at Burringham Church. The main graveyard is now overgrown with long grass. On the other side of the road is a new burial plot with a memorial and a bench.

Here is a photo borrowed from their Facebook page. Doesn't it look lovely showing all the gravestones. I found out yesterday that there is to be a wedding at the church in September. My friends granddaughter is getting married there. How exciting. 

Join me for a walk around the outside. Unfortunately the door is locked so we can't go inside.

 

I will post the other Gainsborough photo's soon. It's Sunday the 1st of June and the sun is shining. I hope that is a good omen for the rest of the month.
