Rainy Day Coffee Chat

Hello. The weather has kept me in today. Rain rain go away. Only the cats to talk to, and my friend on Messenger. I might as well talk to the camera, so here is a video. 22 minutes, too long I think. Difficult to shut me up once I get started.
It's gone 7pm and it's not raining. I need to go a walk. No good sitting around on my backside all day.  Thanks for popping in, catch ya later.  Toodle pip.  ilona

  1. Cheers to you as I'm drinking my coffee. Reading about you walking had me thinking I always park the farthest out at stores, I live on 2 acres, have chickens, and a huge garden so I get plenty of exercise. Well, a couple months ago I decided to purposely walk each day. I marked out 1 1/4 miles and thought that would be a breeze for me...since I get so much exercise anyway. The first week I honestly thought my hips were broken. They were so stiff and it felt strange and hurt walking that distance. When it was in the 100's, I wanted to skip days but decided to walk at night. At 7pm, it was 90 but the sun wasn't overhead so it was doable. In another year, I will be 70 and now walk 2 1/2 miles each day. I'm not trying to do long walks...just enough to feel healthy and keep moving. I've found it addictive. I look forward to being out and seeing the occasional dog walker. Thank you for posting on your walking. I'm sure it has encouraged others to walk.
As far as this covid crisis, I don't know who or what to believe. I keep my distance when grocery shopping and I do wear a mask. When walking, I don't mask up. Once when walking, someone yelled to me put on a mask. I ignored them. Happy weekend. Patty McDonald

    1. Your walk sounds lovely. Stick with it, it will get easier. No need to mask up when outdoors, just keep away from other people. Ignore the angry people.

  2. Good Morning and thanks for the video to share with my first cuppa of the day!.I love your sweat shirt by the way.I always say Cheers back to you as well...can yer hear me mother, lol.Well it has been a miserable few days in Leicester and made even worse by finding out that my sisters husband has Covid.I havent seen him since before March but my sister is sure to have it now. They all went on holiday to the coast last week and now their grown up daughter, son and daughter in law all have it as well.My sister visited my Mam on Monday so that means my Mam who hasnt been out of her house since March..apart from when she broke her wrist..could maybe have it too.I am fuming because although they had symptoms they still visited my Mam,which now means that I have got to stay away from her as well.So she is alone and disabled in her house.I will take food to her and leave it out side the door and chat through the window. My brother in law has never worn a mask, gloves and has carried on his city social life all through the lock down, which has made me angry because it must be him that has brought it into that side of the family.Any way moan over..Im loving how your new art work is coming on and I think star fish are a great. What about even a little baby crab!.Im thinking that I might try and do a bit of clearing out the garage today. It needs it and I know there is some lovely Build a Bear teddies in there that my grandaughters dont want no more.I really wish the charity shop was open for donations while I am in the mood to move stuff on.By the time that happens,I will have changed my mind and end up keeping it all...just in case, lol.Hope the weather drys out so that you can get your walk in today.Stay warm and safe,xx

    1. It's a shame that members of your family have been stupid. Keep a watch over your mam and try and discourage others to visit. Talk to her on the phone as much as you can.

    2. To be honest Ilona,I really am so angry.I have been on the phone to my sister n her husband and they have turned into Mr n Mrs corona virus..telling me what I should and shoudnt do!!.I told them that we in our household had followed every rule, self isolated and only time I go out is to see my Mam.I keep ringing my Mam every 4 hours now instead of visiting..My Daughter, who.for free, drives around every day delivering free food for for the elderly, has now been tested positive for corona.While.my sister and Hubby have been going on holiday every 2 weeks and my sisters husband to the pub every night!.Without wearing a mask as he goes in or to the toilet, which is the ruling now. Please every one, stay as safe as you can.xx

  4. Me and hubby have watched your chat tonight whilst having supper. I understand your point of view with regards to the current situation. I feel the same. Hidden agenda. But we need to read, listen, learn and stay free from the brainwashed sheep.

    1. I know people are turning away from me, in real life and in the virtual world. As Pam Popper says, you will lose friends, but you will also gain some. Which fits in with what I believe. You can't change peoples perceptions, but you can change how you deal with it. I am of the mind that everything moves on, nothing stays the same forever. I am quite happy to let people drift away, because they will always be replaced by someone else.

  5. Loved your video. I live in one of the southern states in the USA. I agree with everything you said. I don't take at face value everything the main stream media says about the virus. I think it is important to do some research on my own along with getting others personal experience advice. I agree with Linda. I sure don't want to follow the brainwashed sheep.

    1. Thank you Claire. I have learnt a new word, Acquiesce. I had to look it up. It means accept without complaining, accept without questioning. I don't like to use the word sheep, but I can't think of a better one.

  6. thank you Ilona for another coffee time chat, it was as it always is filled with very wise words. I also take a step back from the world and really look at what is really going on. Yes we have to be prepared for whatever it going to happen, things that I had learnt about years ago are now happening. I have learnt not to mock anything due to once mocking things that unfortunately are now happening around the world. stay alert, stay safe and with always an open mind about everything.
