Car camping in North Yorkshire

Right let's get on with the posts from my trip to North Yorkshire.
I parked up overnight at Scotch Corner Services.
I arrived at Reeth Showground quite early the following day.
I decided to walk the short distance to Reeth Village first. I remember it from years ago when I came walking in the area. Has it changed? No, just as I remember it. I love it here. I stopped to chat to a young man who was sitting on the picnic bench outside the shop. He had a big backpack as he was doing the Coast to Coast walk.
First things first, let's have an ice cream.

The band was getting prepared to walk down the hill to the Showground. It's a tradition apparently. Their arrival signifies the opening of the show. It's also the tradition that anyone can join in and follow them.

The Village Green allows parking. It's a voluntary payment, but I suspect that most people would be happy to pay that. There are no car parks nearby so it's a good idea to bring in extra revenue for the businesses. Not good for photographs though. You have to choose the best position.
It's quite a compact village with cottages and cobbled streets.

I would love that view to wake up to every morning. Minus the cars of course.

I could have stayed there all day, but I have come to see Reeth Show. A ten minute walk back to the Showground.

If you want to see more pictures, they are on their way.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona
