It's good to have a break.

 Howdy. Did you miss me. I took a couple of days off, had a smashing time. A bit of car camping and a visit to North Yorkshire and The Dales. Sunday night at 6pm I set off, and two hours later I was parked up on Scotch Corner Services on the A1. The motorways are usually quieter at that time, and it was straight through with no hassle. 

Monday morning I picked up the A6108, through Richmond, and on to Reeth via the B6270. It was the day of the annual agricultural show. I have read about it in the past and always wanted to go but never quite made it. There is always a lot going on Bank Holiday weekends. It was a great show. I spent the morning there. 

After that I drove to the nearby Grinton Lodge Youth Hostel. I have memories of staying there years ago. It's fabulous walking country. I stopped for a chat and took some photographs. 

There was still a lot of daylight left, must make the most of it. No point in parking up early when I didn't need to go to bed until it is getting dark. I liked the look of Richmond when I came through it earlier so I went back to it, found a quiet street to park in and went walkabout. 

I had planned to go to another agricultural show the next day, but decided I didn't need to. It would be much the same as Reeth. So my plans changed. After Richmond I went back to the services for another night. I checked the maps to see where I might go on the second day, Tuesday. 

I know. I will go to Bedale. I have been before, it's a lovely little town. Had a mooch round there. I had spotted on the map that Thorpe Perrow Arboretum was only a few miles away so I went to have a look. So pleased I did. Over 100 acres of all kinds of trees. 

Then I wondered if I might have time to go to Masham. Still only mid afternoon, yes, let's do it while I am here. Another pretty Yorkshire village. 

The motorway was a bit busier coming back. A lot of lorries on the move. I just slotted in with them. So much more relaxing to keep to 57 - 60 miles an hour. 

Now I have got the task of sorting the photo's out and uploading the videos. This is part of the fun for me. I see some comments came in while I was away. Thank you for that.
