FINISHED 😍😎😝 Last week at the Coffee Morning someone asked me if it would be finished by this week. I didn't think it would, because I am a slow methodical worker. Everything has to be right. Over the last few days I have been enjoying the process, so I have been keen to see the end result. and I love it.
How it started. Wrap some plastic rings in coloured embroidery thread. The red pearly thing is a bangle which I wrapped with red wool.
Wrap the inner ring in gold thread. Make some sparkly buttons out of pipe cleaners to go in the centre of the small rings.Search my buttons and broken jewellery for something that might work.
Not sure which way to go. Several options to consider. Play around with the layout. Add the small red washers and put a gold stud in each one.
Make a bigger circle to fit around it all. I cut the top off a popcorn tub and wrapped it in blue wool. Sew a thin red cord around the inside of the blue circle. Stitch on 50 small buttons.
Put a red sparkly pipe cleaner around the buttons. Almost ready, I forgot to take a photo of the finished front. Wrap the outer hoop with orange ribbon. Gather the excess at the back and put some wadding inside.
Cue fanfare. Finished. You can see the decorative silver edge now. I added extra studs between the small red circles to fill the gaps.
Next to my previous mandala. I can't decide which one I like best.
All the hoop creations I have previously made.
Phew. Now I will rest my brain, until I start the next project.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona
