Good morning, and welcome to another Saturday. We are whizzing through 2025 now. Far too fast for my liking. So much to do and so little time left. Let's crack on.
Yesterday I got the 1.09pm bus into town. It stops at the end of my road so very convenient. My mission was to photograph the latest exhibition at the 20 21 Arts Centre. Now that my camera has had it's checks it's all systems go.
Luxmuralis is on until the 13th of September. It's a spectacular video and sound instillation. The electrifying immersive exhibition has been seen by millions of visitors across the UK and beyond. Loud pulsating music accompanies the stunning visuals. There are seats to sit down, choose a deckchair, or you can lie on a pile of beanbags if you want to gaze at the ceiling to allow the colours to wash over you. I stood at the back to take these pictures.
For more information about this exhibition take a look at the 20 21 web site.
If you want to see more pictures like this I went to a similar event in March 2024 at Lincoln Cathedral. This of course is a much bigger venue than our St Johns Church. The photo's from that showcase a much wider mixture of colours. It is a bonus however to have a scaled down version of this exhibition on our doorstep in Scunthorpe Town Centre.
Then it was time to walk the five miles back home. Some of it is road walking as I come out of Scunthorpe and pass the industrial estates. I have noticed in the past that there is always a security van with a dog in it parked at the front of an empty building, with no sign of activity in or around it. I thought that was strange. There is a low wall in front of the car park, which has barriers to stop people driving onto it. This is a handy place to sit for ten minutes or so and have a snack. The dog barked at me so I sat further away from it than I usually do. Don't want to upset a guard dog. The human doing the guarding came to speak to me. What happened next put a massive smile on my face. I'll tell you about that in another post.
Enjoy your Saturday. Toodle pip. ilona
This looks absolutely amazing and you’ve taken some great photos.
ReplyDeleteGoing off topic here but don’t forget to switch your phone off tomorrow as it’s this ridiculous emergency alert test. I’m definitely not giving them the satisfaction of being able to send it.
Hi, As one of the wide awakers, you are allowed to go off topic. I had a message come through on my mobile from Tesco about the alert test thing. I think some of us know that it is not about alerting us to some impending disaster. It is about gathering data to check whether enough people are tied to their phone. They are looking for an indication of how compliant we are. How many people will see the notification as an order to have their phones close by and switched on. Of course many will go along with it. This will give them an indication if we are ready to accept the next stage of moving towards a totalitarian state. They want to know if we will follow Chinas example. The Government is full of nudges, it's up to us to see through their nasty scheme.
