Hello there. Finally the last post on my recent Yorkshire trip. Big sigh of relief everyone. 😲😵😽 After a lovely stroll around the Arboretum, off I went to the last place I had noted down on the map. Masham is not like mashed potato with an 'sh', it's mass ham.
I needed petrol so I was pleased to find a garage when I got there. Then I looked for somewhere to park. The town was super busy with a main road going straight through it. I was surprised to see articulated tipper trucks to go thundering through, past the Market Square. It desperately needs a bypass. I followed the signs for Long Stay Park, thinking it might be a bit cheaper than the main car park in the centre. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this sign. Whoooopeee, I put a few coins in the honesty box. It was only a ten minute walk into town.
So here I am in the Market Square. Look what I found. Another honesty box. How fantastic, so why don't other towns adopt the same idea? Because they are run by greedy grabbing councils. I was walking across the square when a car pulled up to park. I remarked to the woman about the easy going parking arrangements. I explained that you can put any amount you like in the box, there are no tickets so no one comes round to check. We carried on chatting. They had come for a day out from Leeds, and were heading to a cafe for coffee and cake. I said I am going to have a look at the church. We chatted some more. She had a great personality, and the bonus, she was in the same wide awake club as me. The banter was brilliant, we both laughed our little socks off.

If you want to find a particular place, shops and businesses, in Masham, just look at the sign posts.
I had a look at the Church. No video this time.
Thank you for getting me here safely. Thank you for my life. Thank you for every new day dawning. 🎵🎵🎵
As I wandered around the church graveyard I wondered if I was seeing things. In the next field there was a sign on the fence saying do not feed the reindeers. What! I looked into the field, and then I did see them, quite some distance away in the far corner. They were sheltering from the sun under the trees. Get the camera out and zoom in. There they are.
This has made me gooooogle 'reindeer in Masham'. So here you go. You can hire reindeers for an event.
Then I came home. Six places visited in two days. It was a smashing break. Good to get out and about. Thanks to Janet for looking after my pussies.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona
