Love my cushions

That's another one done. I like the pinks and purples in the flowers on this one, they blend in well with the pink stripey shirt.

Looking good now, three done and two to go. Keep chipping away at it, I'll soon have a full set.
I took some close up photo's of these red berries before, but they didn't turn out too well, so I have been back to try again. I like these shots of the whole bush a lot better. It's in someone's front garden quite close to a road junction, it looks rather stunning as you approach it.
All the leaves have dropped off just leaving the berries. I love the contrast of the clear blue sky in the background.

I wonder how long it will be before the birds come along and fill their bellies with them. Would love to be there when they arrive, watching the pecking frenzy. I'll keep my eye on it.

A mixed bag with the weather today, started off miserable and wet with heavy showers, but now it's cool, crisp, and sunny. Don't think it will be long before we get some of that white stuff. I'm just off outside to do an hour in the garden before it starts getting dark. Could do with going to town but can't be bothered, might go tomorrow. Toodle pip.

  1. Those cushions look amazing! I was intending to make new covers for our cushions. But, with living circumstances changing my sewing room has to be turned into stepson`s bedroom again, so my sewing has been put on halt for now. As soon Mark has moved in I shall be able to relax a bit more and will try to make the covers in time for Christmas.

Those cushions are fantastic Ilona, cats are going to have a great time choosing where to sit now. As for the white stuff we had a downpour a few days ago, came with vengeance but soon left again but it was awful for some hours .

  4. What a striking shrub/tree. I agree the contrast is such a natural beauty.

With your new cushions, no wonder the cats have taken to the lounge. I can imagine the cushions make for cosy comfort for cats!

  5. Hi Ilona, sorry have not had the time to read for a few days. Love the cushions, are you still making them by hand or using your machine? I think I told you before I made a hexi quilt by hand, but everyone would think I was mad to make a square one by hand, but don't have machine at present (well could borrow one) but am very keen to use up some fabric strips I bought a couple of years ago. Of course they looked really good on the 'net, but in the flesh I did not like them so much - how fickle. Your recent sewing has inspired me to maybe get it all out again in the new year and 'do something constructive with it', even if I make something that is donated to charity.

  6. Your cushions look lovely all grouped together like that. You've done a really good job sewing them all by hand.

  7. You did a splendid job with the cushion(s). What a win/win situation for you- you created something useful out of "nothing" and for nothing! Stay cozy.

    1. Hi. Sorry but I don't want to sell them, I like them too much myself, and they make my room look cheerful. Could you try making some yourself?
