Making the job easier

It doesn't take me long to make a video, park the camera on an upturned small coffee table, park myself in front of it, and speak. Ten minutes if I don't waffle too much. Upload to yoootooob, they seem to be uploading a bit faster now, wonder if they have tweaked it a bit. And there you go, one blog post done. Quicker and easier than struggling for an hour or two, wracking the brains, editing and re editing a load of text. Now I have time to get on with other things.

    1. Nope. One bottle over four days, every three weeks. Medicinal, ha ha.

  3. I'd be interested in your thoughts and musings on the state of the high street at the moment Ilona, and what all these big names can do to survive. It seems like a month doesn't go by without a national chain going bust or being taken over. Did you see that show the other night about saving poundtretcher?

  4. I love my 'easy' clothes as I call them; comfortable flat shoes, t-shirts and sweatshirts, skirts etc. They are old but still wearable and I potter about the house and garden perfectly content. If anyone calls in unexpectedly, well I am afraid that is tough that I am not done up to the nines, it's my space and I'll do what I want. Your lunch looked lovely by the way.

  5. I thought at first this must be a parody, either that or you haven't a clue what it's like to live with someone who truly loves you! Also note that the 'love' is what enables relationships to prosper, love without selfishness.

I've been married for many years and all those things you said you were able to do because you're single - I do those things!
When two people live in complete harmony they aren't tied together by constraints on their lives, it's the complete opposite.
If I don't want to 'slave over a hot oven' I don't, my other half is perfectly able to cook too! I come and go whenever and wherever I choose, yet it's also wonderful to have someone to come and go with if I choose to. The absolute best of both worlds! Also to know that there is someone who really loves me is wonderful and also liberating, because he loves me he wants me to be happy!
I feel a little sorry that you haven't experienced this for yourself.

    1. I agree I never have to explain myself to my hubbie or vice versa - we are just happy together like two peas in a pod but I do respect those who choose to stay single.

    2. I have to agree with you, I live alone like MQ and after having really really bad experiences with relationships in the past, now prefer to live alone, but even though I too can do whatever I want, whenever I want, (within financial restraints of course) there are times when loneliness creeps in and the need, even to hear another voice in the house, is overpowering.
      Good post.

    3. Yes I enjoy having another human being around. When my hubby was in hospital for a month I hated the empty home.

    4. I, too, agree with you Janice. Being married for me is a wonderful partnership where two people take care of each other. I'm happy you're content Ilona as contentment is a virtue. And, you enjoy your life. Pat

  9. Great video Ilona, thanks for the positive message on being single. The media always seems to paint single people as being sad, lonely or lacking in some way, but marriage and cohabiting isn’t for everyone. I didn’t actually choose to be single, but after a while I realised I would never marry and have already done nearly 20 years on my own. I have time for lots of hobbies and interests and feel I make the most of it. I looked after my elderly parents and was happy to do so, but to be honest wouldn’t want to be anyone else’s carer now.

  10. I wouldn't want to live on my own. I love my hubby and enjoy his company. Also he cares for me when I'm poorly xx

  14. Sadly I have over the years experienced miserable relationships with other people myself and seen in others where both parties would and are happier separately.Good for you Ilona x

  16. What is important is that you are happy. I love your videos and clicked on the video tab at the top but it does not show the current ones. I am glad you put "video added" in a recent post subject. Congratulations on your exhibition. Jackie

  17. MQ you've put into words how I feel about being single too. Nobody to report to, I can do what I want, when it suits me and if I want to slob in my PJs then nobody to judge. Decided to get a dog and as long as he's fed and walked (gets a bit grumbly if these are late LOL) he doesn't pass comment on the rest of my life. Yay!
