Nice to get visitors

A visit from another blog reader today. Caz from Derby took a bus ride to come and see me. It's actually the second time we have met. The first time a few years ago was purely by chance, on a service area on the M5 motorway. I was on holiday with Rocky and we had stopped so he could have a walk. Caz and her husband recognized him from seeing him on the blog. Amazing coincidence. Great to see you again, Caz.
Here is the bio I wrote for the exhibition.

I had another visitor today, a trucker friend that I hadn't seen for many years. We worked at the same company, my first job in 1976. Was good to have a catch up. Pete was always the life and soul of the party type, nothing has changed except he has a lot less hair now.  One more picture sold today. I've made a video but it's not that good, lighting problem and camera shake, will have another go.  ilona.

  2. Well done on yet another sale! I hope that all the people that have visited your exhibition have took away a few ideas of what they can do to make more use out of things. And how nice to be recognised when you are out and about!!.I saw a frugal fashion blogger in Brighton a few months ago and had to go up and say Hello!Im so looking forward to seeing your video...I always enjoy them,xx

  4. A well set out and interesting bio. I can see why you like David Hockney, the simplicity and colours of his work lend themselves perfectly to your textile pieces. One of your pieces closely resembles one of his, so we can see how his work has influenced your creations, and draws your eye into the landscape beyond. As your exhibition draws to an end, it looks like you have had a hectic yet enjoyable time.

  7. With your penchant for making pieces with unwanted materials, by some regarded as just rubbish, but to many of us as having another use/life, I thought you might be interested in what others are doing. I simply googled "Trash Art" and "Easy Trash Art Projects". Some of the pieces are excellent, I was particularly taken with the three dimensional Scottie Dog, well I think it looks like a Scottie. :-)
