Different views

Is it safe to come out 🙋  I think I was pretty generous allowing comments to be published. What began as a simple video talking about retirement and pensions, descended into a free for all slanging match, mainly aimed at me. I refused to engage with the troublemakers, 'no comment' is quick and easy, and I have better things to do. I write about things that are interesting to me. If you don't like it, don't come here. Thank you to the wide awake readers who are singing from the same song sheet as me. I appreciate your support.
The rain has kept me indoors. This small needle felted picture is nearly finished. I just have to frame it.
Back to normal now. Any comments from people who have different views from me, any that question me about my views, will be deleted. Don't waste your time. Either write your own blog or go to some of the other blogs which are more aligned to your thinking.
I see that yesterdays post has had 1050 views, not that numbers matter to me. People love a verbal punch up and come back for more. The last ten comments that came in this morning have been deleted.
Catch ya later.  Toodle pip.   ilona

    1. I allowed them to say their piece, because I knew that they would show everyone what a nasty bunch they are.

  3. Your picture is beautiful. The detail is just incredible. Lousy weather here today too, heavy rainfall this morning and high wind advisory this afternoon and evening. It’s been a good day for a pot of soup and a good book. Keep on keeping on mother!!! We are here with you all the way!! 😊

  4. I really appreciate being allowed into your life and lifestyle. I retired early from nhs finance at 57, and I will be 70 this year. With the help of an inheritance I persuaded my husband to take early retirement too, and being careful with the money until the old age pension kicked in we have enjoyed 13 blissful years pleasing ourselves, no longer at the beck and call of bosses. I like to read blogs by frugal people, and also people with strong convictions. I regret a lot of things from my childhood that are no more, and think the world has gone mad. I try not to let negativity into my life, and take comfort in nature, it keeps me sane. I really enjoy your blog, although I am not at all creative apart from occasional crochet. I admire your determination to be true to yourself. It is the way to stay happy. Thanks for sharing. Ann T

    1. Hello. Gloria is still sitting here in the armchair in the corner of the room. Mayze has lost interest. Now that the sun shines she is in the windowsill.

  6. I think you’ve done the right thing in not engaging with the trolls. They simply want an argument and aren’t going to change their views.
Your picture is beautiful and I know how difficult needle felting is to do. Something on a small scale like this would look gorgeous pinned on a coat lapel.

    1. I have tried, boatgal. There is no reasoning with those who are so bitter their only means of communication is to argue. They must make their own path in life.

  7. I think you have done exactly the right thing. No point in discussing anything with people who don’t agree with you or question your views!

    1. That's why I replied with 'no comment' They must make their own decisions. I have tried to put ideas and information out there. I have tried to be accommodating and allow them their say, but it's a waste of time. People can come with me on my journey through life if they wish to, or they can go their own way.
