If you think litter picking is straight forward and dead easy, think again. There are some stomach churning gruesome sights to be found. An assault on the nostrils can be vomit inducing if one does not make a hasty retreat.
I went out for an hours picking this afternoon, along a short stretch of busy road. Filled one bag, that's all I intended doing. There is a pull in for drivers to take a break. It's pretty wide, an artic can easily fit into it. There are some concrete blocks which form a barrier. It's what was dumped behind the blocks which is a problem fly tip. A very big problem which needs first the Council to come and inspect it, followed by the police to investigate as to how it came to be tipped there. A dozen black bags of animal carcasses.
Sheep I imagine. Cows difficult to fit in the back of a car . . .
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was sheep, because I found some a year ago. I couldn't see any fleece in the bags, best not to open any more anyway. I posted this on a Litter Picking page late last night. I see this morning that it has been put in the 'pending' folder. Awaiting admin for approval. I guess some people can't stomach it.
DeleteThat really is vile.
ReplyDeleteThe truth often is.
DeleteI've heard about goats being slaughtered in dissused London properties, (they have cctv showing men dragging goats through corridors from the back enterance) for Halal meat,... guess they can't leave the inners there if they are using the property often,.. so guess this is what they do, dump in the countryside. I've actually seen something similar to you,... when out for a countryside walk... looked like sheep that time.... I actually ran off because it upset me knowing that they were probably bled to death. oh what is this country comming to. Wish I was back in the 1970's.
ReplyDeleteYes, the sixties, seventies, and eighties were good times. We will never get them back.
DeleteHow awful!!! And awful for you to find. What is wrong with people.
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely awful Ilona. You are a very brave lady and a bright light still shining in this very sad world. Some days now I despair at the depths people have sunk to. Is it just me being 'old school' or have things got far worse since the pandemic? People like you and me need so much courage and determination just to survive from day to day.
ReplyDeleteI think it started before the pandemic, and I hesitate to use that word. It was a man made plan to put the fear of God into us all. Create the problem, watch the reaction, and create the solution. and it keeps happening, over and over again. It's all about the Federal Reserve losing 21 trillion dollars. They create problems which allow them to claw it back from the tax payers. It's one crisis after another, all designed to destroy family life, destroy mental health, and break any resilience we ever had. They remove everyone's hope for the future. Such is their thirst for total control.
