Happy Spinsters Day

As I don't have a dad to wish Happy Fathers Day to, haven't had one for many years, I am re naming this day, Happy Spinsters Day. So here is my special treat, egg, beans, and a veggie burger on toast for breakfast. Scrummy, lovely, and filling. 
Enjoy your daddies, whatever you are doing, and I will enjoy my Happy Spinsters Day. Toodle pip.  ilona

    I prefer to use the title 'single' to those who are unmarried: 'bachelor' was always regarded as a man who hadn't been 'caught yet' and was a real prize; 'spinster' has at times been used to describe a lonely bitter woman who never found a man. By the way, the term 'spinster' was coined because an adult unmarried woman in the family was valuable and cherished as she was an expert with a 'spinning' wheel.

    I'm going to have a fry up tonight with veggie sausages instead of burger. I'm an orphan too so I'll be enjoying Spinsters' Day as well.

    Have you seen this on the BBC website where knitters have knitted their village? It's excellent!       My dad passed on many years ago too and I am single live alone with 4 cats and live a fairly gud life on a small pension. Just making a veggie pasta dish tonight with whole wheat penne and nice side salad. Happy older single women's Day to those without parents r adult children around x

    Like you Ilona my lovely Dad passed almost 24 years ago. He was lovely my mum too has gone. On the positive side my dad loved animals and i have inherited this from him. Have a lovely day Ilona and the beautiful fur babies. It is raining here and is not flamin June but hopefully the weather will improve. Loved your meal Ilona I did something similar today.
