We need to laugh

What day is it?
I have a million and one ideas in my head for blog posts, and need to get them in some kind of order depending on which topics are most urgent and which can wait. It is obvious that things are brewing on the political front. After all the pretty fireworks on new years eve, I think we should be aware that more fireworks are to come, and they won't be pretty, in the run up to Mr T being signed in as president. The fanatics will do anything to stop that happening. They know they will forfeit their own lives as they go about causing maximum carnage and murders of innocent people.
The fight for world dominance continues. We, as insignificant little people, cannot do anything to stop the relentless push for the demographic changes to come.
What we must do however is recognise what is happening and why, then get on with our own lives.
Last night I watched this video. It gave me 55 minutes where I switched off from the doom and gloom, and had me ROTFL. OMG, it was hilarious.
Tent boxes are becoming a thing, and these three pals had the idea of cutting costs and constructing their own. I have watched their previous videos. They always have crazy ideas. They do things which any sane person would not attempt to do. They very much remind me of Boys from the Blackstuff. Remember the the TV comedy drama written by Alan Bleasdale, set in Liverpool in 1982.
Hell on Earth have created their own brand of hapless humour. The perfect antidote to the other hell on earth. Grab yourself a beer, or a coffee, and be prepare to pee yourself laughing. Don't forget, entertainment on yoootooob is free.
A sunny start to the day today. I must get some washing in the machine and out on the line.
Thanks for popping in. Thank you to all those who have taken the time to send me supportive comments. I appreciate that. We, the Wide Awake Club, stand together.
Toodle pip.   ilona

EDIT
Here's another Hell on Earth, when you have finished this one. Three lads stealth camping in an old beat up campervan in the middle of London. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜…

  1. I am awake to what's happening Ilona - but I Am concerned about the car tax increase now - This government is relentlessly cruel it appears to me - I will continue to face the sunshine though - Happy New Year xx

    1. My car tax has been increasing by £5 every year for the past three years. That seems normal to me. My car has a small engine and is Ulez compliant. I suppose it depends on what car you have and what size engine. My biggest cost is insurance. I am about to pay £524 for one year. This has gone up by £11 from last year. Happy New Year.

    2. My previous car was an MPV diesel, and just came in under the 100g/km CO2 limit so was zero rated for car tax. On reflection, I think I've made a bad mistake replacing it as my new car is being clobbered with much higher car tax, but that car was ordered long before Rachel from Complaints upped the tax rates in her budget. It's delivery was also delayed by several months by the insane EV sales mandates, only shipped when the manufacturer had sold enough EVs. And, to add to the annoyance, it is fitted with all of the now mandated "safety" distractions that make driving far more fraught than it needs be.

  2. The violence on January 6, '21 was more than many of us can understand to this day. Decency seems to be unfashionable. We must all have our own way, and now evil is condoned. As a moderate I am willing to listen to both parties, but I'm afraid. I know politics is often corrupt in any country. This president will not unite us. There are very real issues with hot topics like illegal immigration, cost of living, jobs, health care, housing. But there always have been, and the people living through it always insist its worse this time. Maybe in some ways it is. The photos of the places you visit are so pretty. I was fortunate enough to visit your beautiful country in 2022, and as it turned out it was during the funeral of the Queen. I wish I could have seen more than southern England. Thank you for keeping up the spirits of your readers with these glimpses of village life.

    1. I think moving large amounts of people illegally around the world is the biggest threat we have. Sleepy Joe opened up the borders and let them all in. Maybe Mr T will reverse that

  3. I see those roof-tents all the time around here (Bavarian Karwendel), I don't understand the attraction. I think a tent on the ground is far more practical and with the right sleeping bag and Therm-a-rest just as comfortable. It's perhaps a fad, but I may be wrong and they are here to stay.
Thank you for the funny video!
    Liebe Grüße, Barbara

    1. To be honest, it does seem daft to have a roof tent if you can sleep comfortably inside the vehicle. I would feel safer with me inside and the doors locked.

    1. Their filming techniques are very clever. They each have a camera and film each other and what they are doing, and knit it all together. In the London video one of them jumps out of the van as it is about to cross London Bridge, runs alongside it while filming, and jumps back in at the end of the bridge. Hilarious. They take chances though. The red lines on the roadside mean no stopping, and I doubt the van is Ulez compliant. The van is full of clutter and they managed to sleep three in it. That was funny. They have a great time together.
