Remembering good times.

Good morning. Crafty Club was a good laugh yesterday. It was Pat's birthday so we celebrated with cake. She was over the moon with her lovely gifts.
I took along my ongoing project, covering the gilet with scraps of fabric. You can see the progress by comparing the two photographs. I have decided not to cover the whole thing with patchwork. I shall stop just below the armpits, then find one large piece of fabric to cover the rest of it, carrying on with the stitching right to the top.

I have copied some old photographs. I worked on Blackpool Pleasure Beach. when I was 19 - 20 - 21.
My younger brother Stephen. I think this was the last time I saw him. He moved to India and came back for a visit.
Me and the boyfriend camping. We had a tent in the back. He didn't like camping so we went in hotels after one night.
We toured the south of England. The Eden Project was interesting. About 23 years ago.
Also went to London. Inside a pod at the London Eye.
Then we went to the USA, three times. The upside down house. Orlando I think, can't remember.
I have a lot of good memories, they far outweigh the bad ones. One has to carry on. I am in contact with a boyfriend from way back, 45 years or thereabouts. I remember some of that, it was about the time I was driving buses. I have photographs of him which I won't post on here. I like that someone remembers me from many years ago.
Thanks for popping in. We'll catch up soon. Toodle pip.   ilona

    1. Hairstyle inspired by the sixties pop scene. I would like some more re unites from the past because I am curious about how their lives have evolved. Where are they now, how did life turn out for them? It's tempting to search for those who used to be in my life, but what if they don't want to be found. There was one person I didn't want to lose touch with, but we couldn't carry on because my circumstances changed. I gave up some of my old friends because the new person wanted me all for himself. That was a mistake. It took me three years to get out of it. I have very fond memories of one person in particular. I hope he is still around. I shall never know. I'm glad your reunion turned out ok.

    1. Yes you do. I was on a trip with a group of Roller Coaster fans. We landed at Toronto Airport, and the first thing we did was to go up the tower. I still have that t-shirt, from 23 years ago.

  3. Your hair was such a beautiful colour, and you really suit that layered style in the later photos. A fine looking woman! Your brother looks nice. Do you have any of you as a child that you would be happy to share? H

    1. I remember my mum brought a box camera with her from Germany, but she didn't use it very much. I think the films were too expensive. I bought a cheap camera when I started working, but I was a teenager by that time. I can't remember having any school photo's taken. So no, I don't have any photo's of me when I was a nipper.
