Let's weave

It's a wet Monday morning here in North Lincolnshire. A quick blog post before I go off to Crafty Club. I have a big bag full of wool to take, given to me by the same people who gave me the fabric. The ladies will be able to dive in there and take what they want.
I've made a start on the next weaving. The loom is an old picture frame, 12 inches by 14. I've used wool for the warp which is better than string because it has a degree of stretchiness in it.
At this stage I have ideas floating around in my head, no definite plan, see where it takes me. I'm thinking maybe lollipop trees.
There is a strip of cardboard underneath the tassels which will be removed when I come to take it off the loom and tie the ends of the warp together.

Oh, and while I have a minute, here's a message for the sad troll who is constantly monitoring my every move, just to make sarcastic comments. Your campaign to belittle and put me down 'aint working sunshine. Carry on if you must, but it is you I feel sorry for. My life is just brilliant, yours must be absolute hell if you feel the need to bolster your confidence by pulling others down.
Toodle pip.  Ilona

PS. Scroll down to see what the trolls response is to the message I posted above. This person has a personality disorder.

  3. Nice weaving. I always fancied a larger loom to make a rug on. Strips of fabric not wool. Your troll can't stand you are comfortable in your own skin - his/hers must be so itchy! Deb

  4. Its coming on great Ilona.I was given a huge canvas over the weekend and I have sat and considered weather to try doing this....then I realised that I had given all my coloured wool to my sister last year.I have one beige ball of wool left...so thats made my mind up.Its now hanging in the garden as garden art, lol.I am too frugal to go and buy some wool for it!I should get a year out of it and when it fades in the sun,I will paint it and use it for something else....As far as your troll is concerned,...yes,I feel sorry for it too.It is maybe sat there, feeling very bitter and envious of how popular you are!.It sounds like it is a bit of a stalker if it is monitoring your every move on here.Maybe,it should jog on and look in the mirror to see if there is anything it could do to make its sad twisted life a little bit better,xx

    1. On the video I watched she did 12 rows of weaving then added the tassels. Cut shorter pieces and bunched them three strands together. I started my tassels when I had done only two rows, and did single strands because I didn't want mine to be so bushy and thick.
      here is the video.

  8. Nice even tension on that weaving! Good inspiration to use a picture frame-ready tensioned at least,if not ready mounted and framed!

  10. Refering to that troll/bully. They clearly are not at all happy with themselves and their life or they wouldn't be eaten up inside with jealously.Leave them alone with their misery. You are a delightful lady Ilona and spread happiness and joy x

    1. I agree Flis.Envy of others and low self esteem is whats causing this troll to behave in this way.Bullies are always cowards, that is why they dont say who they are.Maybe if it kept its self busy, like doing a bit of gentle housework, watering its weeds, polishing its shoes...do trolls wear shoes? Im not too sure...it could maybe even have a bath,to take the smell envy and bitterness away?.Anyway,I hope if it is reading today...and Im sure it will be...it will take some of these ideas on board.Hope every one..apart from the troll...is having a lovely day!,xx

    1. Sue, this one doesn't clear off, it's been coming for years. I have deleted loads of comments, they just keep coming. That's why I think they are clearly deranged.

    2. We share a troll excellent , how many of us does this one visit ? does it actually have a life other than trolling? does it live under a bridge? my questions are endless , doesnt bother me in the slightest

    3. It doesn't bother me either, I'm a tough old bird, but I think it should be talked about because vulnerable people who are targeted by bullies are committing suicide.

  14. Dear Ilona
Trolls are silly, to publish their comments shows what a strong girl you are, and it gives the rest of us a laugh at their stupidity
