It's raining. Planning a day indoors

Well hello my little blogerettes. Not many comments on the last Trucking Life video, are you sick to death of it? Did you get the message at the end?  A lot of comments on yoootoooob. Fear not, there will be no more trucking vids.
Are you having a wet time of it as well? The view from my window this morning, looks like it might be a day indoors. Oscar has been in for his breakfast, and a snooze on the chair, now he is out there in his shelter by the side of the garage. It's dry, he has a bed, he likes it out there. Heidi has had her tablet, and breakfast, now she is upstairs in her hidey hole. Mayze is still snoozing, can't be bothered to get up.
The light over the work table goes on first thing, so I can do something with my hands while I drink my coffee.
The view without the light. Still a bit dark, might have to put it on again.

Started a little weave this morning. Not sure where it's going, maybe a mini landscape, maybe a tree, maybe some flowers.

Didn't post yesterday, this was my breakfast. Fancied something cooked. If there was another person here it would have been enough for two. It filled me up alright, only needed to have a fruit smoothie for lunch. I have a small seeded baton, yellow sticker, 11p, so cut some slices off for this. On top is mushrooms, spinach, chopped spring onions, last bit of pasta salad, and an egg. The bread is spread with houmous. My goodness, it was lovely.
This morning was porridge, but not just ordinary porridge, I add things to it. I stewed some apples yesterday which my neighbour gave me, so a couple of spoons of that went in. And a small banana, and some chopped nuts and seeds, and some grapes. I put the dry ingredients in the mini chopper before I cook it, makes it smooth and creamy. I cook it in water, then add a splash of milk towards the end. A warm breakfast to set me up for the day.

Now I'm going to move over to the back table and carry on weaving. Mayze has stirred so she will be asking for some food very soon. Toodle pip.  ilona

    1. Thank you for your comment, Pam. Take no notice of my grouchiness, it's the time of the year. These two months leading up to Christmas are not my favourite months.

  3. I enjoyed your trucking videos Ilona and left a comment on YouTube! When you wasn't trucking, what did you do in your spare time? Did you used to go dancing or to the pub or something else? I would be interested (alright nosy) to know! I hope you had an enjoyable and productive day. x

    1. Thank you, yes I noticed that. Trucking was very demanding, both physically and mentally. After a 12 hour day I didn't much feel like going out and socialising. It took over my life for a while, I didn't mind because it's what I wanted to do. I used to dance a lot before trucking, I had friends to go out with. Used to go to pubs, meals out, ten pin bowling, and ice skating.

When I was parked up on nights out in the truck my social life was wherever I happened to be. Truckstops, lorry parks, and layby's. I socialised with the other drivers I met, in the bar, or a pub. Depending on where I was I sometimes went a walk, sometimes I took my bicycle with me and went a ride.

5pm it's been raining all day, I have done some more to the weaving.

  5. It's great that you had a job you loved. A woman in very much a man's world. Gloomy and chilly in Essex.

    1. Yes, I was lucky that I found the work that I wanted to do. I changed jobs when I got bored, in transport there is always something new to learn.

  6. It's been miserable all day here too. We needed to go into town to run some errands but soon came back to the warmth of home, Ilona. In for the evening too. We can't be bothered to go out when the weather is so Autumnal ;)

    1. I pick and choose when I go out. As soon as I've eaten this hot porridge breakfast I'm going to walk for an hour in the sunshine. It might not last all day.

  7. Grey windy showery weather here.Must not complain here in southern, Victoria,Australia as we never seem to get enough rain when we need it anymore! Still would be good if it happened when you didn't have to go out

  9. I loved your trucking videos...and every video you put on here, including easy on the eye Terry!.You are the first blog I google every day because you always cheer me up and give me food for thought in some way!.Well we are are due another rainy day here again in Leicester and the only plans Ive got is nipping to my my Mams. She has got a load of very docile flies coming in from a corner of her patio doors in the kitchen so Im going to see if I can fix the problem.I love the colours of your new weave.I always wear my green stuff in October and November. It sounds daft but it but it makes me feel warm and cozy!I nipped in Tesco yesterday to spend my vouchers that have been collected over the last year or so.£8 50p worth so I stocked up on my Stockwell gravy mix and tea bags.It felt good to come out there with a bag full of stuff and not spent anything, lol.xx

    1. I don't get many vouchers from Tesco now because I don't use my Tesco credit card so much, and shop around in different shops paying with cash.

    2. I was amazed to get anything at all in vouchers this time.It was only £1 50p and the 3 others that I hadnt spent yet mounted up to the £8 50p.I think that it must be over the last couple of years that I have saved them because its very rare I go in there. My Mam has the same club card number as me as she had one of our key cards so that she could give me her points.I think thats why I got a voucher this time because she sometimes picks up a few bits from there.xx
