Stopping for a break on the road.

Hello. After a good sleep I am refreshed. Here is the first of the videos I recorded while on holiday. The wind was a problem, one of them I have deleted already, I will check the rest. Gretna Services is just off the M74, a suitable place to park overnight after driving for four hours.
On leaving Gretna I carried on driving north towards Glasgow. Navigating the motorways takes a lot of concentration, I am not familiar with the road networks in this area. I check the map and write down the route in large letters so I can have a quick glance at it. No sat nav here. The M74 goes onto the M73, then onto the M80 and changes to the M9 after Stirling.
I wanted to make a stop off point at Falkirk, a few miles south of Stirling, to see the Falkirk Wheel. I missed it last time I was up here, Luckily it is signed posted off the M80 motorway, being as it is a popular attraction. The next post will have some photo's of that. The Falkirk Wheel is a boat lift which connects two waterways of different levels. Canals sometimes have a lot of locks up and down, but I think you will be impressed with the engineering of the lift and how it operates.
Plenty more to come. Let's see how long you can stay awake, ha ha.
Billy has been walked by a friend while I have been away, I am looking forward to seeing him again this afternoon. Thanks for popping in. We'll catch up soon.   ilona

    1. Push the passenger seat forward, fold flat the back seats, and put a sunlounger/camp bed in the back. Like this. It's very comfortable and cosy.
