  2. Congratulations! I am going to get my total done today, although I won’t be at 1000, I am hugely better than I did last year! How excellent for you to be at 1000 already, I am inspired! 3. Congratulations Ilona on reaching your target super early! I have not got anywhere near but am not dispondant as I'm enjoying the walking I'm doing .I am consciously walking more thanks to your encouragement.I have been on the south coast for 3 weeks and am spending as much time as I can outside walking. The weather has been very windy and wet but have not let it stop me .The only thing is my legs go tingly and I have to rest in between walking and then off again out x

  5. Yes, you are very inspiring, and thank you for the pep talk! When you pointed out the obvious (it adds up to only 2.7 miles a day) which I had neglected to consider, being overwhelmed at the idea of 1,000 miles, suddenly I had a lot more hope. I recently began walking several mornings a week for my health and am inspired to try it 6 days a week now. 2.7 miles is fairly easy to accomplish even for this 67 year old carrying around 40 extra pounds! But hoping to see those melt away. Your example will help a lot in getting me off the couch and out there walking!

  6. Always love your videos Ilona!!,Well,i know that i havent walked anything like that far this year...but i do know that i have walked alot more than i used to on a daily basis.Even if its just to the local shop,i find that by the time i have found somewhere to park on that street..i might as well have walked there.Saves on petrol too!...Well,i tried my local Asda yesterday morning and compared the prices to Aldi, because i said that Aldis prices were going up quite a bit on the things i buy....But Aldi still worked out cheaper. So its back to Aldi for the time being.Thing is Aldi catfood is the only one all 5 of my cats will eat so i have got to go there anyway.I think that what has put me off Aldi a bit is that i have been overcharged for few things in this last few months. They scan the things so fast and i have been charged twice for something i only have one of and not realised until ive got home and checked. Its worth ringing the freephone number for them and mentioning it,cause they then give you a ...case number...what you take with your receipt the next time you shop and they refund the amount.Thing is,it might only be 65p...but Im not going to pay for an item that i have not had!!....Well,its a dull and dreary day here in the Midlands,so i will be a good little house wife and dust all around the house...it needs it...badly.Lol,Debi,xx

  8. Listened to 105 year old Diana Gould on Women's Hour on Radio 4 and very fit and sprightly she was too. Her advice was to keep moving, keep learning and look on the bright side of life. Sounds like you Ilona. Thanks for the brilliant blog. Sharon

  9. Well done! I'm into a healthy lifestyle too, but I don't think of it in terms of quantity of life, but of quality. Hopefully the 2 go hand in hand. My MIL lived to 77, but lived an unhealthy lifestyle, and was not fit for much the last 5ish years of her life. My own mum is 80, and is (as far as I can see) as fit and sprightly as ever. She always walked (still does), eats healthily, and has always been teetotal. Karen

  12. Congratulations, Ilona! A great achievement - and to have improved on last year too. I won't be up there this year but I am keeping going: it's surprising how debilitating grief can be! Vicki
