No yellow stickers in sight

It's cheap veg time again, even without the yellow stickers. It's the time of year when the supermarkets are trying to get you through their doors in the hope that you go potty and spend spend spend. Tesco have these veggies for 29p each. There's carrots and potatoes as well, but I didn't need those. Loss leaders are what they are called. Other supermarkets are doing something similar so have a look where you shop.
I reckoned it was about time I treated myself to a new mug. After all, I have been using the one on the right for twenty nine and a half years, it's time for a new one.

Trust Heidi to get in on the act.

I like a big mug of coffee in the mornings.

I spent £40 in Tesco today and used an £8 off voucher.   ilona

  1. Wow! So hard to believe your mug lasted so long and is still usable. I am pretty good with things but somehow always manage to put a chip in my mugs.

  6. I had some of those 29p veg on Saturday and they were great roasted for Sunday dinner. Potatoes and parsnips in first then stir in some carrots and then add cauli and sprouts fro the last 15 minutes, no meat needed, just some gravy made with stock from the veg peelings.

  8. We do profit from their over ordering.. sometimes you see things reduced that would have been unlikely to sell at full price if atall

  9. I was very pleased with my yellow sticker fruit , vegs & salady things yesterday lunchtime again in Tesco.I've enjoyed food that I would never buy otherwise as it's too expensive for me.The bread was still to be reduced though. There was one lady at the chilled shelving who positioned herself very close to the assistant as she tried to place the items onto the shelves-this lady almost snatched them out of her hand and everyone else had to wait for her to decide if she wanted it or not.Otherwise everyone else had been very friendly x

  10. I bought 4 reduced cauliflowers, two will be frozen in florets, and the other two turned into 'rice' and frozen.
