Full steam ahead

The Haverthwaite  Railway is just across the road from the church. There were four coaches in the car park, one of them discharging their passengers. Quite a lot of people were milling around, buying tickets and waiting for the next train to arrive. I asked if the train was going to be packed. The volunteer said no, they have put extra carriages on. I purchased a ticket for the train only, £11 for a return. It takes 20 minutes each way. Most people waited near the ticket office to get on. I walked up the platform. A group of school children climbed aboard their reserved carriages.

Time for a look around to get a few snaps, before the train came in.
The number on this one rings a bell. I think I may have seen it somewhere before. Pickering maybe. Nope, I've just had a look.

A look inside the shed.

Picture taken from the footbridge crossing the line.
And we arrive at Lakeside, after a 20 minute journey. I will get off and have a look around. Maybe get a later train back.
Lots of people milling around. The boat arrived at the same time. Oh my word, too many people. People getting in each others way as they swapped from boat to train, and train to boat. I got straight back on the train and returned to Haverthwaite pronto.
I set the camera rolling for the last ten minutes of the return journey.
Time to move on. Where to next?
Thanks for popping in. Look out for the next video. Toodle pip.   ilona
