In the news. . . . .

One Health Group has plans for this piece of land. A new surgical hub is coming.

Artists impression of how it might look.

The new hub represents a significant investment in local healthcare infrastructure, promising to improve access to vital surgical procedures for residents in Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas.
Adam Binns, Chief Executive Officer of One Health Group, the entity behind the development, emphasised the project's broader significance. "Our ambition to develop a network of surgical hubs is key to our longer-term accelerated growth strategy," Mr. Binns stated. "This supports rising NHS demand and offers crucial surgical capacity growth in under-resourced areas across the North of England and the Midlands."
Construction work on the Scunthorpe hub is anticipated to commence in the coming months, with a proposed opening date in late Summer 2026.
"Surgical hubs" are defined as specialised units dedicated to elective care procedures, offering operating theatres, recovery facilities, and inpatient beds shielded from the pressures of acute and emergency care, thereby ensuring the consistent delivery of scheduled surgeries.

Some comments, , , , , ,
Yep another 'Hub' run by yet another 'Private' run company billing the NHS an extortionate amount whilst lining rich shareholder pockets ðŸ˜€... And sticking it on Nornandby Road ? .. Its an industrial estate ?
What about the facility on Normanby Road which is fully equipped and ready to go ? The building that has around the Clock Security??? Is the Tax Payer footing that bill ??
Why not take over the old Trent Cliff place? That is already built with theatre suite etc and is located close by.

Who are One Health Group?
As an NHS designated body, our values are strongly aligned with NHS values and our services are provided principally through NHS e-Referral. We treat approximately 17,000 new patients every year and have around 130 NHS Surgeons and Anaesthetists working with us across various specialities. Our patient pathway is based on providing outpatient care and physiotherapy rehabilitation locally, directing surgical patients to one of our local Hub independent sector hospitals.

It's looking like it could be a nice day. The sun is shining. Get yourself outside. Stay hydrated with lots of water. Look after yourself.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona
