Definitely patronising, definitely nanny state, but more importantly another step in the direction of total mind control. Many more steps to come.
They do not trust you to make up your own mind about what is safe and what is not. But they have a point.
My message is do whatever you like. Get pissed if you want to. Assess your own risk. You leave yourself open to abuse from dangerous people. But that's your choice. Don't come crying if you get attacked and your phone ripped from your hand. Punched in the face, and shoved to the ground. Don't hand over the responsibility to someone else to keep you safe. Take it upon yourself to look after yourself.
