So many events

Another Saturday night and I ain't got nobody . . . . .but that doesn't matter because I've been away for a couple of days and had a lovely time. First stop was Lincoln where I went to visit Pumpkins Charity Shop. Then I went to Sleaford and had a look around there. And at 6pm on Friday night I was at Heckington for the Show. They let me park on the car park where I spent the night. I've had the day at the show today, and I had a look around the village. So, I have lots of photos to sort out, and three, or was it four, videos to come. I'll start on that job tomorrow. There is a local event on tomorrow, I may even go to that one as well.

Are you having a good weekend? So many events happening around the country at the same time. Plenty to choose from.

Catch you tomorrow. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. You are so lucky to have the confidence to drive all over the country, all down to your years as a trucker no doubt. You are also lucky to be so physically mobile. I see so many people your age struggling with sticks and walkers. Good for you Ilona, living alone and getting out and about, seeing interesting places and having new experiences. You are making the best of your days.
Luv to see your cats too.

    1. There is an element of luck to enjoying life. There is also an element of being born in the right place, and the genes you inherit from your parents. My mum was brave to come to England after her homeland was flattened. She started afresh, and it worked well for a while. Then it fell apart and she made another move to put all her energies into being a single parent. I learnt a lot from her.

Although my parents died early I have not followed their unhealthy lifestyles. Little was known about nutrition then, but now we know what is good for us and what is not. We can make informed choices about what we put into our bodies.

I am well aware that our time on this earth is limited, we don't get a second chance. The hurdles we have to go through are a learning curve. We can set our sights as high as we like, or as low as we feel comfortable with. It depends where you want to be. I had aspirations to drive a big truck so I made it happen. Once I had learnt a job it became repetitive, so I moved on to a new job and a new challenge.

Putting yourself into a comfortable position, and staying there for a long time, means you are not reaching your full potential. When I say 'you' I don't mean that personally, I mean anyone who has aspirations then fails to act on them. It's all about choice.

I am rather hoping that I get another ten years, but who knows, my time could be up at any time.

  3. Brilliant advice Ilona. I try to get up and about every day, despite arthritis and asthma. I just do a bit and leave a bit. Love my garden and my crafts and have good neighbours which is a blessing
