Fascinating.

Sorry, no post today. Been busy catching up on some new conspiracy theories. Some fascinating stuff coming down the line. I won't tell you what they have in store for us, don't want to spoil the surprise. Anyone want to join me down the rabbit hole, don't forget your tin hat. I must get a new one, mine is getting a bit battered. Must go, a couple more vids to watch before bed time.

St Michael's Church at Farnsfield,

The wild flower meadows are looking particularly lovely at this time of the year. I was on my way from Eakring to Kirklington and I managed to miss a footpath and ended up walking rather a long way on a road. I passed Whip Ridding Farm and checked the map. Oh bugger, I am not supposed to be here. The path I missed would have taken me on a shorter route. Too late now I had better carry on.
A bit further on I managed to get off the road and go through a gate and take an unofficial short cut to Kirklington. The flowers were swarming with bees and butterflies.

Across the fields Hall Farm came into view. I didn't go too close because I wasn't supposed to be there. A good zoom comes in handy.

This is St Swithuns Church at Kirklington.

I found my way out of Kirklington with some directions from a lady who was in her front garden. The easiest way back to Farnsfield was to get on the Southwell Trail. I was getting a bit tired at this point, and bored with the long hard slog along the trail. I came off it early and took the road, to give me some scenery to look at. It was slightly longer but the Trail was wearing me down.
Almost back to the car by now, then I saw the church spire. Must go and have a look at it. Oh alright then, one more video.
A video of St Michael's Church at Farnsfield.
Traffic was moving pretty freely on the motorway on the way home. The cats were ready for something to eat.

Walking to Bilsthorpe.

A nice day for a walk in Nottinghamshire. I parked my car in Farnsfield, and got on the Southwell Trail to Bilsthorpe. These types of trails are a bit boring, not much to look at. Thankfully no rain all day.
I saw two very big Solar Farms in the distance. At first I thought they might be water, but there are no ponds on the map. I zoomed in for a better look. Nope, not water, plastic solar panels.

St Margaret's Church at Bilsworth.
The door was locked, can't get in. Let's have a look at the outside and the graveyard. I had a nice chat with a man who was doing some hedge trimming. The grounds were very tidy.
There is a Facebook page for this church if you want to have a look. It has a video of the vicar giving a service.
I've got another video for tomorrow. Hope you like churches. 😁

False claims

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan
@MayorofLondon
Expanding the ULEZ was not an easy decision, but it will save lives. The easy decision would have been to kick the can down the road. But were we to do that, thousands more people would die prematurely. London deserves better than the dangerous, polluted air we have today.

Expanding ULEZ is part of the WEF plan. You were ordered to do it.
You could have delayed it to give people time to organise their personal budgets. Now a lot of people will go further into debt and possibly lose their homes.
How many thousands more people would die prematurely. How do you know? A computer model no doubt. Computers know everything.
What are you going to do about all the polluted air coming across from China as they build more coal fired power stations.
The best thing people can do is to move out of London.

Day out in Nottinghamshire.

That was a long walk. I used to be able to do between 15 and 20 miles a day, sometimes more, but not now. Today I did 11 miles. I was heading for Nottinghamshire, but didn't need to go as far as Southwell this time. Not far from the A614 is Farnfield. I drove through it when I was last down this way.
I parked my car at the picnic area on the Southwell Trail. This is a long straight track that used to be a railway line. Now it's for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. My walk took me to Bilsthorpe, Eakring, and Kirklington, than back along the track to Farnsfield.
I missed a turn at Eakring and ended coming down a long stretch of road. The turn I wanted would have been a much better walk along footpaths. Never mind. I always get there in the end.
I made a couple of videos at two of the churches. I'll upload them tomorrow. But for now I'm going to relax before bed time. Catch ya tomorrow. Have a nice weekend. Toodle pip.   ilona

Open your eyes.

When you walk the same path over and over again, don't ever take things for granted. Open your eyes and look more closely. You may see things you have never noticed before. Watching the new crops grow.
A field that is always left fallow. Nature will take care of it.

Every year a new picture emerges.

Our food for the future. Thank you farmers.

Reaching for the sky. Waiting for the harvester.
Seeds that have dispersed. Blown away with the wind.

Strangled by invasive neighbours, but still managing to make a show.

A few pics from yesterday. Get out and use your camera, to capture the wonders of the ever changing countryside.

A windy walk over the Humber Bridge

Yesterday the weather wasn't too bad. Some sunshine, some clouds and no rain. I was planning a couple of days away but didn't want to drive a long way only for it to be ruined by rain. I decided to stay local. I went to Barton on Humber and went to the Ropewalk. I have mentioned this place before, there is an art gallery, a shop and a cafeteria.
There was an Open Exhibition of local talent. This piece of needle felting and embroidery caught my eye. It's called The Dog and the Bird and is quite big. If you have £500 it's yours. I would like this on my wall.
I took a photo of this because Michael Scrimshaw painted it. I have mentioned him before, he has a studio here, and he opens his door on the Open Studios weekend in September. This is not my kind of art at all. It will set you back £950 if you want to buy it.

When I left the Ropewalk I set off walking to the Humber Bridge. There are some steps to get up onto the bridge. No photo's this time. I made a video to test out the wind mufflers on the camera. I think they work pretty well as it was quite windy. However they couldn't do anything about the traffic noise.

After a walk along the Hessle Foreshore on the North Bank I made my way to the bus stop on the bridge. That was a bit confusing. There are a lot of paths around the car park and the Country Park. Follow the signs.
The bus came within about ten minutes. They run every half an hour, the 350 Hull to Scunthorpe. As I had time to spare when I got back to Barton I had a look around. There are two big churches.

Spotted, a famous name at the gate of a big house next to the church.

I had a mooch around a churchyard. This gravestone topper is quite unusual.

Ooooh, look, a hippy campervan. It's 32 years old.
I was back home for 7pm. The cats were ready for their food.

The voice.

I pick up a lot from body language. I think it's necessary to see the person as well as hear them when it comes to assessing their sincerity. Face to face is better than watching someone on a screen. Pence was being interviewed by Tucker recently. The smug insincerity was there for all to see. He actually dropped the bombshell right at the end. He doesn't stand a chance.
Here we have RFK Jnr and Hannity. I like the way Kennedy sits straddled sideways across his chair, leaning forward. A bit like someone who is riding a horse and holding onto his saddle. He is raring to go, and ready to do battle. Hannity looks hesitant. He has his questions and appears to be lacking confidence. Not sure whether he wants to be sitting or standing, says proceed with caution. I will look for the whole interview to see how it pans out. I only hope that RFK's voice holds out.
Must press on. Life is busy. Catch ya later. Toodle pip.   ilona

Mushy food

Lunch today, mashed potato, mashed avocado, and shredded spinach, with a drizzle of toasted sesame seed oil. Got to be careful not to bite into anything hard.

The repair is hardly visible, in fact it looks much the same as it did before. The bridge has been in for a long time. It had a hairline crack when I whacked myself in the mouth while securing a load down with straps inside a trailer. I thought I had broken it then, but luckily it was ok. Now all I have to do is be very careful when I eat. I hope the repair holds out. There is a possibility that I might lose a bit of weight, now that I can't be stuffing my face with snacks. I could do with losing a bit of belly fat.
I've been a walk over the Humber Bridge this afternoon. I will upload the video tomorrow.

Art in the Pen

This is an event coming up in August that I can highly recommend. Art in the Pen at Skipton. Here is the link to their web site.  It says you have to book tickets in advance and state your time of arrival. I have checked with the organisers and they say you can just turn up and pay with cash. Only £6 for a great day out, and free parking.

Here is a pic from my 2017 visit.

Two blog posts for you to peruse.

Eaten alive

That's it, toothy peg repaired, £25 lighter. Sophie managed to stick the broken piece back in. It was very small. I have strict instructions not to bite with it, so it looks like I will be back on baby food again. The mini chopper will be in constant use, and the juicer will come out of the cupboard. Soup and smoothies, yum.
Look what I found. A poor phone box is being eaten alive. It looks like an arty sculpture. The inside is full of ivy. I do hope they leave it alone. Or, perhaps the ivy could be trimmed up into a modern day haircut.
Now time for lunch, then a dog walk. I need to mow the lawn but it is sunny one minute and cloudy the next. Can't plan anything at the moment. Take each day as it comes.

The tooth of the matter . . .

Good morning. I am eating my breakfast, cereal, nuts and seeds, all finely ground in a mini chopper, with a banana. I can't chew hard food these days. Trying to keep hold of the teeth I have left. I am off to the dentist in half an hour, to see if Sophie can repair my broken tooth. It's part of a bridge so there will be no pain. Not sure what the outcome will be. I don't want her to attack it and the whole bridge have to come out. If there is any doubt that she can do a good job with no complications, I will leave it as it is. People have said it is not noticeable.
I knocked out this video yesterday, so I will post it here.

Solution

Form an orderly queue please, there's plenty of room inside. Man dragging his friend away, no you can't afford it. Come with me, I'll show you where you can get it free.

Business is booming for Kim's at Folkstone. With so many hungry blokes hanging about why not cash in on the opportunity to supply much needed nourishment. Perhaps Kim could expand her business and set up other shops elsewhere. Plenty of docks around the coast, on the doorstep for a great many more hungry customers. Perhaps a takeaway or delivery service could be provided, to supply many of the fully booked hotels dotted about the country.
Prices seem very reasonable. Younger customers could start off with the £65 option for the main meal,  see how it goes and maybe book for the pudding to follow. Those with a huge appetite could have the coffee, with cheese and biscuits, to finish the two hour grand finale. For more details, check the web site. Please note that this is not a sponsored post. 😝
The rain has stopped. Hoooooray. Toodle pip.   ilona

New crafty project.

Something to play with on the craft table while the weather is wet wet wet. Yes, the rain is coming down again. Looking like a trip I have planned may not happen.
I have a spare hoop, bought as one of a pack of three ages ago. Diameter 10 inches. What to do with it? Someone gave me a pack of plastic straws, the bendy type. Hmmmm, maybe I can do something with them. Cut the straight bits off and use the bendy bits. Use a hot iron and iron them flat between two pieces of greaseproof paper. Now to attach them to a black background. Don't want to use glue, stitching could work.
I will get on with this, and do an Aldi Shop later. Enjoy your Sunday, if you can.

Not very green

The problem is what to do with windfarms and solar panels after they have reached the end of their useful life.
Here are some ideas of what can be done to recycle windfarm blades.
News item which shows the scale of recycling windfarm blades and solar panels.
The Great Renewable Energy Con explained by Dr Benny Peiser. A discussion. Video from May 2022. I am passing it on in case anyone is interested.
Dr Benny Peiser of the UK-based Global Warming Policy Foundation explains how Europe’s net zero dreams have only led to soaring energy prices and dangerous dependence on Russian gas. He warns against Australia taking the same perilous road by allowing China to exploit our energy insecurity. Learn more about the implications of climate science and policy in Australia.
EDIT.
Here is another video I have just watched, from December 2021. Ian Plimmer speaking to John Roskam.
Professor Ian Plimer is one of Australia’s most strident critics of destructive green activism. In the latest episode of IPA Encounters, Professor Plimer and John Roskam discuss his latest book ‘Green Murder: A Life Sentence of Net Zero with No Parole’. A geologist by training, Professor Plimer lays out in the simplest terms why climate change science is far from settled, and how while human activity may impact local weather events it has practically no impact on global climate cycles. He outlines how corrupt funding imperatives are driving bad scientific research, and calls out environmental activists who through their ill-informed activism are causing more harm to human prosperity and habitats across the planet than good.
It's raining so I am starting a new art project. Enjoy your weekend. Toodle pip. ilona

Girl power.

It's been a busy old week trying to keep up with the gardening in between showers. The hedges are looking good now, but it's an ongoing task to keep on top of the lawn mowing and the weeding, and the repotting. The brown garden waste bin is full already and there is still another week and a half to go before they empty it again. I always put the excess into the grey wheelie bin which goes off to landfill. They never question it. This week we had a lady bin lorry driver, which I was pleased to see. On the same day a council grass cutting machine was mowing all the verges. A young lady was driving that as well.
The coffee morning on Wednesday, was an afternoon tea event, just for a change. I took my friend Gloria, it's the first outing she has had for almost a year. The furthest she has been is a chair in the back garden. She wasn't impressed with the bumpy ride in the wheelbarrow though. 😄 I made an effort and dressed up for the occasion. 😎

I have nothing planned for the weekend, but a dentist appointment is booked for Monday morning, to see if they can repair my broken tooth.

Have a good weekend whatever you are planning to do. We'll catch up soon.

Killer food

My dad was 46 when he died. He dropped dead in a shop as he was collecting a suit from a gentleman's outfitter. He was far from home where he used to live with us. Mum and dad separated a few years before. He moved for work and found lodgings with a landlady that cooked for him and did his washing.

Why such an early death? I believe it was because of his unhealthy lifestyle, and his attitude towards life in general. He denied his kids a family life. He thought his main role was to go to work, earn the money, hand over some of it to his wife, and spend the rest of it down the pub with his mates. Me and my siblings missed out on what a real family is supposed to be. He came home drunk and we listened to the rows from our bedrooms. My mum had to double up as both mother and father to us.

Smoking sixty Capstans a day and downing many pints of beer every night was not a good recipe for a long life. It caught up with him.

Looking after your health has got to be priority, unless of course if you want to take risks with eating  rubbish food, and boozing until your brain is reduced to a pulp, you may well find that eventually your body gives up. Anyone with addictions would do well to get help.

Sick people are a godsend to Big Pharma, the drug pushers as I call them. They are happy when people trash their health and go to the doctor for medicine to cure whatever ailment they have through their unhealthy habits. Don't worry, there will be a pill to put things right, with a big fat payout to their shareholders.

A lot of food is poison and should never be eaten. There should be health warnings on it. Eat this crap and you will be one step closer to death. Another bottle of vodka and your liver will be pickled. And now they are working on synthetic shit produced in a lab. Just say no.

Dr Aseem Malhotra says in this video, 'You can't drug people into being healthy'. He made this speech before the plandemic. Watch the video and read the comments.

"Most medical research is financed by pharma companies: this creates a conflict of interest whereby many studies & clinical trials are intentionally designed to make drugs look good by exaggerating benefits, & ignoring side effects, even when severe."

I look after an elderly neighbour who takes a huge amount of medications. I have witnessed doctors talking to her and they never ask about her diet (it's appalling). She recently called the GP about diarrhea and he proscribed anti-diarrhea tablets without a single question.

Mainstream overmedication needs mainstream media coverage, but almost never gets it. Sad to see, but not nearly as sad as seeing loved ones struggle with pills to “fix” the side effects of the other pill.

Looking like I can get back out into the garden. The sun is shining.

We'll catch up soon. Toodle pip. ilona

No horses, and lots of beads.

On Sunday I went to a Craft Fair at Doncaster. There is a massive car park opposite the Racecourse. The Craft Fair was in the Exhibition Hall. I paid my £5 to get in, which I thought was very reasonable. Had a quick flit round the stalls, but I was very keen to see what the actual Racecourse was like. I went outside to have a look. It was very windy so I went up into the stand to make this video.
The front entrance.
Artificial flowers make up this horsey sculpture.

This sculpture is in the centre of the courtyard to greet everyone who comes in through the gate.
I was able to walk around, but I didn't wander too far in case I found myself in a restricted area.

Fancy a drink.
It was a lovely sunny day, but oh so windy.

I haven't been to a horse racing event at a Stadium. I don't fancy it.
Time to go inside and have a look at the Craft Fair. It was very well laid out, plenty of room to move around. As I went up and down the aisles I noticed that many of the stalls were promoting the same kind of crafts. There wasn't much variety. A lot of paper crafts, cutting up bits of coloured paper, and sticking them down on a plain sheet. Colouring in with pencils. There were plenty stalls selling bits to make jewellery, and lots selling beads. Not much in the way of fabric and wool crafts.
I sat down to watch this demonstration, but got up after ten minutes. It was going out live on Facebook. It reminded me of when you go to a television studios as a member of the audience when they are recording a game show. The warm up person cracks some feeble jokes, and the presenter has a big grin on their face throughout the whole presentation. The audience are encouraged to laugh at the appropriate times. This presenter was talking about her love of cute monsters.

A few close ups of colour.

Today I got the electric hedge trimmer out and managed to tidy up a large section of the conifers before the rain came down. I did a Billy dog walk. I am cat sitting for a friend, now going to check on them before bed time. Please excuse me, I have to go.
