A mishmash post

We still have unsettled weather, so it's difficult to plan anything. The Coffee Morning yesterday went well. I took the pet beds with me and sold them, the money going towards Club Funds. On the last Wednesday of every month they have a game of Bingo. It's always a jolly laugh. I don't join in because I don't want to win anything. I thought it might be good fun to call the numbers out, so I asked if I could. They said I can when they have the next session. I will enjoy that.
After Coffee Morning I called in to see Angela, and had mug of coffee with her. They have had a couple of holidays over the winter months so I haven't seen much of them It was good to have a catch up chin wag. In the afternoon I did a Village Walk.
Look what I found in the rubbish bin at the Cemetery at Chesterfield. There was a big wire basket and people toss their unwanted Christmas decorations in there. Easy to quickly take them out. Why don't people take them home and bring them back the Christmas after. A bit of colour for my garden.
A friend called by last night and gave me an apple pie. She had been shopping and found some reduced yellow stickers. Very kind of her to pick an extra one up and pass it on to me. This morning I had a portion with cream. Very nice.
The weather is still unpredictable today. I've been to town, I wanted to check in with the bank because I am in the process of spending some money. Best to alert them so they don't block it as an unusual transaction. Lo and behold, the doors were shut, bank was closed. What! Why is it closed on a Thursday?
I popped into the Arts Centre while I was there. A new exhibition has opened. I didn't have my camera with me because the battery was on charge. I will have to go back to take some photographs.
I have just uploaded a video. It will appear on the blog later today.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Taking things from a bin in a cemetery? Do you not feel even a little bit embarrassed? You've actually just reminded me of your post from ages ago taking those flowers from a cemetery which you deleted because you got called out.

    1. The folks who should be embarrassed are the ones throwing perfectly usable stuff in the bin! Good for you Ilona for saving it from ending up in landfill. Sorry, I’m only anonymous because I’m not Blogger literate! Best wishes, Petra!

    3. Hey first Anonymous ( not you Petra). She did not go picking them off head stones 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. I find it a little unsettling you have been stalking this blog for so long.

  2. I remember that post! Funny that she deleted it sharpish after she boasted about taking someone else's flowers. Shameless.

  3. I don't see anything wrong with it really. It was put in a bin to be thrown away. It was the persons choice to dispose of it. I put a wreath on my parents grave and they would be upset if I threw it in the trash just because I know how thrifty they were. I just reuse it every year and refresh the flowers when needed. I ques some people would object to that also. Anyway, Ilona that wreath is beautiful.

    1. A common sense comment, thank you. The wreath looks lovely on my summer house. The pot plants decorate my seating area.

    2. Yes, since you fish stuff out of bins that doesn't surprise me.

  5. Those flowers are too nice to throw away. Looks like a great day even with the unpredictable weather. Every day is as joyful as we make them. I look forward to hearing about your calling the numbers at bingo I feel it’s gonna be a hoot lol

    1. The flowers are artificial. They will last a year or more until they fade in the sun. Makes sense to get more use out of them.
