How are you?

Good morning. So many lives are falling apart. I keep hearing of new health problems emerging, health setbacks where someone was making progress but now they aren't. A friends husband here in the village is now back in hospital in an induced coma. His heart problem has come back. I spoke to a friend on the phone, she was back in bed after feeling lousy that morning. Another friend is battling constant tiredness.  A yootoober I follow is struggling to juggle work with caring for his sick wife. She is back in hospital needing more treatment. Every day I hear of people's lives being disrupted because of illness. I never noticed this before. It's ok to ask questions.

Now I must take my car to the garage to get a tyre checked. It is losing pressure.

Catch you later.   ilona

  1. It’s the same around me , probably due to fact that we’re all getting old

    1. The examples I gave are people in the 30/40 age range. The husband with a heart problem is late thirties, has always been a runner fit as a fiddle, and father of a young boy. The sick wife of a yoootooober, early forties. The friend battling constant tiredness is early forties. The friend I spoke to on the phone is a similar age to myself.

    1. It's becoming strangely common now. It's like everyone has a sore throat or a cough, or is feeling tired. Having wee problems, is another one.

  3. I see this a lot too. I think as we age we start paying attention to health issues more. We've met more people along our life's journey so that means a wider acquaintance net. The alarming part to me is the different types of cancers that are out there. We are not designed to live forever, but all of us want a bit more time to enjoy life without illness or pain. I'm 75 so slowing down is my new lifestyle.

    1. When I was young I didn't know anyone who had cancer. Now there is an epidemic of it. Even those who have had the all clear are becoming ill again. It's not age related either. People weren't able to get tests, now young people are getting it.

  4. Just my thoughts…Could it be what we eat, even vegetables are being genetically modified and sprayed with chemicals for different reasons. Could it be medications causing side effects that require additional medications. Could it be lots of manual labor jobs being done by machines and works are more sedentary overseeing the operations.
I think a list could go all day and take some deeper controversial paths….
I really think genetics plays a large role in why one person fairs better than others. Even with all the other things mentioned and not mentioned different people’s body’s react differently.
We just do the best we can and live the best life we’ve been blessed to have. And make the most informed decisions for ourselves. 😊😊

Beautiful weather here in my area of the US mother!! Clothes blowing on the clothes line and some much needed decluttering and house cleaning.

    1. I think what we eat plays a big part in becoming ill. Try telling someone that they should cut down on the burgers, and stop microwaving ready meals. They choose to take the risk and eat whatever they like. Genetics may be the cause of some of it, but try asking the controversial question and watch the barrage of insults come flying back.

  5. Funny how everyone in the comments section seems to be skirting around the real cause of why people are feeling so ill. Cognitive dissonance.

    1. I've just had to look that up.

When someone is forced to do (publicly) something they (privately) really don’t want to do, dissonance is created between their cognition (I didn’t want to do this) and their behavior (I did it).
Forced compliance occurs when an individual performs an action that is inconsistent with his or her beliefs. The behavior can’t be changed since it was already in the past, so dissonance will need to be reduced by re-evaluating their attitude toward what they have done.

      Interesting.

  6. Thanks for looking it up! Is stress a factor? I am 81yrs and growing up we walked a lot and had a quieter life than people today . Visiting relations and friends, an occasional movie, ,school, or work ,and being home more, seemed to be our life . With cars my neighbours are in and out all day on the go .It’s sad to hear of young ones so sick. Nana Marie

    1. Yes, stress is definitely a factor. If you are a natural born worrier you are more likely to fall ill with physical problems. An example is make people scared by telling them they will die if they don't stay at home, don't cover their face, and don't partake in some kind of medical intervention. Tell them they can't use alternative treatments and have to wait until the official ones come along. Our lives were much more simple before the internet.
