Cruising the canals. A yooootooob video

I'm going to slot this video in here because it's about a place I visited some time ago. This vlogger has made a lot of videos about his lifestyle change, he bought a narrow boat and now works freelance as he cruises the canals. David's presentations are easy to watch, and are full of information for anyone thinking about living on a boat, with a touch of humour which makes them very entertaining.

I was in Cheshire in May 2017, and made a point of visiting the Anderton Boat Lift. Click on this link to see my pictures.

Now watch the video.

If you want to know more about narrow boats, Cruising the Cut is the channel to head to.

More pictures to come of my latest Yorkshire rambles. Thanks to those walkers who have logged their miles. If you haven't yet done so you can return to the page on the 1st day of the month at any time.  ilona

    1. That kind of life really appeals to me, but I have been put off by his earlier videos which takes you through the process of buying a boat, prices, what work might need doing, where to moor the boat, and everything else you need to know while living in it. It's not that simple.

  2. We saw him briefly, we passed him when we were bringing our boat from Crick to Reading.

    1. He comes across as a very nice chap in his videos. I like the way he speaks slowly and clearly.

  3. Hi Ilona. My brother built his narrow boat 16 years ago and would dearly like to live on it. It's such a slower pace of life.
I love driving it. The canals are beautiful and so peaceful. It rakes quite a bit of money for repairs mooring fees and waterway charges, but it is a lovely life of freedom.

  4. Lovely video.I felt like I had been on a boat trip myself after watching it!We had a boat...very briefly...nearly 40 years ago.We had bought it with a friend of my Hubbies, but where as it was in fair condition and just needed a lick of paint and a few cushions...Hubbies friend got big ideas about it being ripped out and rebuilding it inside!!.We wished he had of told us this before we bought it!We was trying to make it cheap and cheerful, but he wanted to throw thousands at it.So it was sold and I made my mind up there n then never to buy anything with someone else!...I remember you going to the boat lift..was that really nearly 2 years ago!!xx
