Food shopping. What do I buy.

By special request, people have been asking what food I buy. I went shopping last night at 8.30pm, and spent £65. It's three weeks since I last went to Aldi. It was easy, and a nice change to drive the car. The only time I use it is for shopping.
The video is 30 minutes long, it took four hours to upload. I must try and keep them shorter.
All stocked up again.
I did a Billy dog walk today, and don't feel like going out again tonight. There are only a couple of days left in this month, I have a few miles to do to reach the target. Don't forget check in day on Monday. One last push to get the miles in.
Thanks for popping in. Have a good weekend. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. I love it when you do this kind of video Ilona, thank you for sharing your shopping bargains. We buy a lot of similar items on a weekly basis and they cost far more than the Aldi version. We refuse to join the supermarket scrums right now but might try an 8.30pm shop at the Aldi close to us. Thank you for the tip. Stay safe.

    1. Yes, do it, PP. My shop is open till 10pm, so I could go later. It cuts out all the hassle to have a free run.

  2. I did an online shop at Morrisons the other day and was really careful at what I put on the list. I added a couple of treats but I didn't let myself get carried away. I do miss shopping at Aldi though. It's my favourite local supermarket.

    1. Easy to get carried away. I have to be super disciplined to spread mine out over the three weeks.

  4. I love to see what food you are buying at Aldi and how you put your meals together. The food at Aldi here in the US is very different. Please do the next food video as a coffee chat. LOL

  5. I do love it when I have one of your videos to watch!.I love looking at your shopping too!.In the good old days, lol,I used to always find other peoples shopping interesting when they stood in front of me,unloading ready to go through the checkout...or is that me just being nosy!.I love Aldi because the quality is always good and its loads cheaper than Tesco.Another Aldi has opened within about half a mile from me...there is 3 of them in that distance from where I live. There is also a huge Tesco next door to it,so I bet Tesco isnt very happy about that! I have mentioned to my Mam about cutting sweet things, like muffins in half so she is trying that. She says it keeps her mobile when she stands up to get the other half 5 minutes later, lol.Hope you have a lovely weekend.xx

  8. The weather here today is rainy and cold so I watched your video as I walk on my treadmill. I notice one very important thing -- you love cheese and cheesy dishes as much as I do! I do wonder tho how much in US money is a pence ? I know 65 pounds is roughly 89 dollars but the smaller amounts are a mystery.

    1. There are 100 pence in a pound and 100 cents in a dollar. I believe so it would follow that 65 pence would be 89 cents?

    2. Thank you Gill. I am no good at currency conversions.

  9. I do most of my shopping in Aldi's, then if I need something they don't have I pop into Morrison's or Asda. My cats don't like Aldi's catfood but they love the Dreamies-type treats that have recently appeared there, which is great because they're cheaper than the real Dreamies 😁. Xx

    1. I bought some pretend Dreamies once, the cats like them, but too expensive to buy on a regular basis. They will stay a treat.

  10. I am in the habit of shopping right now at 7:30 or 8:00 am. My youngest has a jazz band class at school from 7:30 to 9:00 am, and because of Covid I have been driving him to and from, rather than him going off on the bus (one less place he has to mix with large numbers of other people, for what it's worth). They are not allowed to stay at school in between classes, and because he has no morning class this term I have to wait to bring him home after band class so shopping is a good use of my time early in the morning. I love having the aisles largely to myself! If I don't need enough things to warrant a grocery shop, I use the time to go for a walk. :-)

    1. You have a good system there. Taking advantage of two outings at the same time. You are looking after your family.
