Pretty as a picture

Good morning. It's a bit chilly outside, ha ha. I went out to get my bin back in, and shivered. Now I have put extra clothes on. I did a five mile walk yesterday afternoon. It was good to get out on the old stomping ground again, and to see the changes in the fields over the last week or so.

The small picture is finished. I used a charity shop frame which shows off the colours very nicely. The background should have been felt, as stated in the book, but I didn't have a piece of white big enough. I used a thick piece of fabric.
I didn't copy the stitches exactly from the book. With a bit of imagination it's simple enough.

This is the book I found the design in. Janet at the Crafty Club showed me hers ages ago, so I went to town and bought a copy.

This is the finished picture in the book.
And how to make it. To be honest, the pictures are self explanatory. Anyone with a  knowledge of a few basic stitches could do it.

Now I need to think about the next project.
I'm going to slip in a cheeky linky here, for my readers who like linkys. Or for anybody who wants to find out more about the current situation. This is a discussion from the Rich Dad channel. Robert and Kim Kiyosaki host the chat, with guest contributor Mark Moss. Mark is the co author of the book Uncommunist Manifesto.
At the World Economic Forum last year, Klaus Schwab the founder and chairman of the WEF, heads of state, and other billionaire powers, decided that by 2030 the little people 'will own nothing and be happy'.
There are still a lot of people who have no idea of the implications of this statement. By nothing, they mean absolutely nothing. This video, Is the Great Reset really happening? sets it all out in plain English. If people still think this is a conspiracy theory, good luck to you. There are adverts in this video, ignore them.
When you know, you can plan for the future. You can take back your life, you can decide that you are in charge of your own actions, and decisions, and thoughts.
Thanks for popping in. We'll catch up soon. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. My comment may sound alarmist but I just want to say a couple of things regarding the situation we are in and how I think the coming few months will go. In essence, here in the UK with huge increases in gas and electricity bills and predictions that the rises are going to carry on, I am now eating everything out of my freezer and will be looking to switch it off because I believe we are going to have power cuts as we did in the 1970s. I have now decided to buy tinned vegetables and fruit instead and have stocked up on candles. As I say, everyone won't agree with me (which is fine, we all have an opinion) but as my dual bill for energy has now increased to £80 a month with running one small freezer, a fridge, a microwave, kettle, I rarely use the gas hob and haven't used my oven in over a year. I can cope but I really do worry for the elderly and those with small children in the home - my central heating will be tested that it works but it won't be used for long, I can always add another layer of clothing. On a happier note, a lovely picture Ilona, my embroidery skills are minimal but I have taken up knitting again and was pleased with my last finished project - a warm and cheerful snood.

    1. My last winter utilities bill was £190 for three months. I expect that to rise a bit more over the coming winter. I shall be extra careful with how I use the gas and electricity.

You are taking the right approach, looking after yourself. Make your home your sanctuary. I like your attitude. With a bit of planning we can get over this. Build up a little network of likeminded friends. If people want to bury their heads, that's up to them.

    2. I am doing the same as A Woman's View. Tinned stuff with a long shelf life. Wood for the log burner (probably be illegal to burn it!). Long burn candles. I think it is a very sensible approach. Nothing alarmist in making plans I think it's just being pragmatic. As part of ilona's virtual walking group I am also trying to build up the distance I can comfortably walk on foot. It is healthy and may be handy. Lovely embroidery Ilona, nice bright chirpy colours. Cheers, Karen

  2. I honestly don’t know what to believe but more and more I think you’re correct. If nothing else, it’s correct to be concerned and trying to get ahead of the game.

    1. All we can do is look at all the information out there. I pass on links of what I have found out. It is up to the individual whether they take it on board or not. Getting ahead of the game is a good start. I am now looking at stuff that I have had no interest in the past. Money has meant nothing to me, I have no interest in making more, as long as I have enough I am ok. Now I want to know who has all the money, and what are they doing with it. Fiat currency is dying, they are printing more to get out of a hole. It won't work.

  3. Greetings from Australia, the great most locked down state in the world during the plandemic the state of Victoria, Hi Ilona, I love your blog and the truth you speak, have watched some news on Sky News Australia recently and Mr WEF has featured, there was nothing complimentary to be said about him or WEF, links to Sri Lanka and how the government there followed his advice re banning fertilizer to save the world, dont think that has worked too well there, my country and new government is fast tracking renewable energy, a big battery to save renewable energy has been built in my state, the website for it states it will hold enough power to run up to 1 million homes for......... about half an hour, gee that will be great on a 40 degree hot day, ha ha, thank you again for what you post, hugs to Mayze, cheers Kat

    1. Thank you Elizabeth for your personal thoughts on what is going on where you are. People think it's the virus that has caused the cost of living explosion. It isn't. It's the fear that Governments projected onto their people. Ordering them to stay at home, bullying them into submission. All filtered down from those very rich people. They are deliberately trashing the world economy, to bring in the next part of their plan.

There are a group of lawyers, headed by Reimer Fuellmich, who are conducting a trial in the International Criminal Court. They are fighting against a sea of corruption, paid for by Soros and Gates. He writes in German but speaks in English.

    2. Thank you for the link, interesting video, also interesting how back in 1919/20 the influenza epidemic died a natural death, eventually, when medicine and pharmcueticals were in their infancy, now today with all our advances in medicine etc, covid continues to roll on, have a great day, regards Elizabeth.

  4. The picture is so colourful and cheerful, it brightens the day!
If only the future were as bright, but I try to prepare as well as I can.
