Friday night in

I managed to do a dog walk today, in between downpours. It's raining again now, so I am settled in for the night. sewing while watching Steptoe and Son. Making some more small bags. I've just had notification that Blackpool Illuminations are live now, so I will have a look at that.

The cats are in, and I've opened a can of cider. All is well in the MQ household. Have a good weekend. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. All is well in Gloucestershire too. No rain just really freezing cold to the point that I am upstairs under my covers in my dressing gown also watching comedy with a hot water bottle at 8pm on a Friday night....living the high life! It’s fine really, it’s cosy and safe and warm and that’s good enough for me. Going to look for a bit of fabric in the charity shop tomorrow to finally make some bunting to brighten up my house. We don’t celebrate Christmas so just we don’t have those decorations to put up but colourful bunting in the middle of winter is nice too I think.

  2. You do look nice and cozy.I love the evenings when you can get pyjamas and dressing gown on,and snuggle down into them.Although about an hour ago,I heard a strange meow coming from the kitchen and Tiggy my biggest cat had brought a mouse in.He has done this before with a bird but doesnt hurt them.Just looks at me as if to say...err,Im not to sure what to do with it now!.The mouse was so tiny and it ran behind the chair, shaking bless him.So I have picked him up,and put him in a box, with holes in and rags so he feel safe and can recover from his ordeal. He is safe in the top of my wardrobe,so the other cats cant get at him.Ive even put some tiny bits of cheese in with him in case he his hungry.I just hope that he is calm in the morning so that I can set him free. They have nested under my decking other years so I will put him back there and hope that his mam is waiting for him!,xx

    1. We have success!!,I got up early to check the baby mouse and he was still alive, eaten his cheese and was snuggled in to one of the rags.So as he looked up at me I thought it only fair to put him back under the decking...with his new bed,lol..and hope that his mam will find him.He stepped out from his bed...one of hubbys threadbare socks..and stepped back under a hole at the bottom of the decking.I pushed the sock in after him so it was somewhere warm for him and any brothers or sisters to keep warm.....Better than about 4 weeks back when Tiara thought it a good idea to bring me a dead mouse in bed!!.I was given a bag full of Christmas decorations last night,so I have been decorating the living room and kitchen this morning, mixing them in with my own. Some that I have had since I was a kid!Have a great weekend every one!,xxx

  5. A mobile shop sounds like fun. Up til few years ago I did set up at flea markets, church bazaars and sold in consignment shops the things I had found and shabby chic'd them or just neat old stuff to resell. Did doing it for 40 years and although I have slowed down, now 72, I still go to the thrift store weekly. Don't like to buy new that often. Like helping Mother Earth as much as I can. Hugs from America!!

    1. Hi Sharon. I used to have a mobile shop which I took around the country attending events. I sold fancy goods and giftware with a cat theme. It was a lot of fun but hard work, out every weekend. I loved the buzz of it. Then the recession hit and people stopped buying.
