Check in for the Walking Group.

Good morning. It's Friday the 1st of July, check in day for the members of our International Walking Group. 🏃 Time flies when you are having fun. 😍 We are at the halfway stage of our challenge. The target is 500 miles. Have you done it?

Looking back at my calendar I started June on 424 miles, and finished on 517 miles. 😎I had 4 no walking days, 6 walking in other places away from home days, 2 local 5 mile walks, and lots of 2 and 3 mile village walks. I like to mix it up a bit. Walk a bit further when I feel like it, fill in the gaps with village walks. A change of scenery makes things a bit more interesting. 🙋

Let's hear it from you. How are you all doing? Please update your news here. ✅ You can come back to this page at any time.

Now it's time for breakfast. 🍩 We will catch up soon. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. 473 miles here. The first half of the year went so quickly, but I really hope I will do better during the second half.

    1. Hello Hilde. That's a mileage to be proud of. If you can do the same again for the second half you will be on top of the job. Well done.

  2. Beautiful photos! My total is 786 miles. We're starting to get hot here so I have to walk early (not my favorite) or late. We had a 103 f (39 c) degree day, but mostly it's been around 95 (35). Walking around my town is definitely not as fun as walking around France.

    1. Hello Sheila. Fantastic. I could not walk in such heat. Late at night would be my choice.

  3. Hi Ilona
You had a great walking month. I'm with you -- mixing up routes makes it more interesting. A new nature center was recently completed in our area, and it's opened up several new options for my husband and I. June was a good month - 99 miles which gives me a YTD of 488.
July should be a great month as I have just one short trip planned. The rest of the days should be walking in the morning days.
Hope you have a great day

    1. Hello Leslie. It's good to be a record breaker, and even better when you carry on walking. There will be another record to break in the second half of the year.

  5. Hi Ilona, my June total was 28 miles, year to date 326. Temperatures in the desert of Arizona are super hot right now and my dog had a health issues for a few weeks, so our walks were shorter. Now nighttime low temperatures are 32c/90F so it is miserable ;). Hope all the walking group are doing well. Hilogene in Az.

  6. My June figure was 85 totalling 459 for the year so far. Got another bad cough so not going out walking at the moment. Not sure if it's the extremely high pollen count or Covid.

    1. Hello Nick. Spose I am lucky, I have never experienced a problem with pollen counts. 85 for one month is on target. Take a few days off, wait until you feel better.

  7. Hello Ilona - 165 for June. Total for the year is now 914, which puts me in good stead to hit my target of 1500 by Dec 31. Maybe I will increase the target so I'm not tempted to slow down! Cheers, Allison
