One day more, with the Marsh family.

Browsing the internet can be a mindless activity. It can deplete your brain cells and turn them to mush. I found this while searching for something that will add a little stimulation to life during this stay at home period. Sometimes you come across a little gem of a video, something that lifts your spirits, something that gives you hope that eventually we will come out of this quarantine.

The Marsh family have obviously worked very hard to adapt this song with their own words. It is heart warming to see them working together as a team and supporting each other. Well done.

Keep your pecker up, it isn't going to last forever. Toodle pip.  ilona

  1. The video is absolutely fab! It made me smile and also brought a tear to my eye as well. Isn't it great when families get together to do this sort of thing? I wish every family was as warm and loving as the one in the video.

  2. Oh my gosh,Ilona. My aunt often said - keep your pecker up! I've used the expression often during this pandemic response. Thanks.

  3. Goodness, they are a talented family, aren't they? Amazing! I do sing while I ride my exercise bike but, thankfully, no one records it!! LOL! Thanks, Ilona!

    1. Here is a clip from Kent Online

Dr Marsh said his children - Alfie, 13; Thomas, 12; Ella, 10; and Tess, eight - have been in a few school productions but have otherwise had no musical theatre training.
He and wife Danielle Marsh, 42, also have no background in music.

    2. How amazing was that...it was both emotional and amusing at the same time. The family should feel very proud of themselves producing that whatever their background.
What a shame all families aren’t like them.
      Thanks for sharing x

  5. HellO! From one Ilona to another :-) I've been reading your blog for a while now (your name caught my eye when you were in the papers about being Britain's most frugal pensioner, and I've dropped in and out of your blog ever since). Just wanted to say hello really, and thank you for all the useful tips and life advice you post here!

My name is also Ilona, my parents just liked the name, though I have never met another one in real life! I like how unique it is.

Anyways hope you are doing well in these strange times, best wishes, Ilona

    1. Hello Ilona. How amazing, thank you for sending a comment, it's nice to hear from another Ilona You might have noticed that I mostly use all lower case when I type my name, as in ilona. It's a habit I have got into because with some fonts the capital I looks the same as the L. The font I use here is ok. It saves confusion in other places. I guess you might have had the same problems, people often call me Iona.

I actually found another Ilona, she is in Scotland, I gave her a phone call because she has the same surname as me. Although through marriage, I thought that was pretty unique. We had a nice chat.

Yes, I like my name now, although I didn't when I was at school. It made me feel different and I struggled to fit in.

I am doing ok with this new life we have at the moment, it will be nice to get back to some of the old ways, when the time is right. We must all look after ourselves.

  6. Dear Ilona
Although I've never met you I feel as if you are a part of my life and family! I look at your blog most days and really enjoy your attitude to live and the beautiful things you make. There's never a day goes by when I don't do off things I've learnt from you, like diluting washing liquid or buying on price. Even when I go shopping with hubby if he tried it on I say well Ilona wouldn't buy that, far too expensive! You are a fantastic person and I sincerely hope you will continue your blog, with renewed vigour at the present time as we all need a positive person to brighten our days 😀😀xx

    1. Dear Linda, you are very kind. My blog continues, I don't see darkness when there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Everything goes round in cycles, some things will change, but not everything.
