Keep layering up.

Well the dreaded utilities bill has come through the door. I wasn't looking forward to this. But, hey, that's not bad is it. 😹😺😸😼😻
This covers the dates 10th November to 8th February. The cost for gas and electric was £220.36. Then they deducted the Government Discount Energy Bills Support scheme, £67 x 3. If I divide the total by 3 it makes it £73.45 a month. I am not going to unravel the cost of the standing charge from the price per kWh. There was one price change during the three months. Although this is high for me, I have enough to cover the charges.
Now we are coming into spring so hopefully the next three months will be a lot less. I think there is a price rise again in April. Who knows what will happen next winter.
This house is quite well insulated, cavity wall and extra loft insulation. I got those on a Warm Front Grant 14 years ago.
All we can do is be careful with our usage and not waste it. Keep layering up.
Catch ya later. Toodle pip.   ilona

  2. Well done Ilona, mine is considerably more than that but draughty house. It’s crazy that we are being forced to pay these prices to profit the companies when gas prices have dropped massively! We are being ripped off by our government. They should lower the cap now. I am using as little as I can, not using my oven at all now. Just have the heating in for a couple of hours in the evening. Oh for things to go back to how they used to be
