One or the other.

What started off as a really miserable wet and dull morning, turned into a lovely sunny afternoon. After a large lunch of mushrooms, noodles, and an egg, on toast, I was in two minds, walk or garden? The brown bin is full of lawn mowings and hedge trimmings, ready for collection tomorrow, so walk it was. My usual five miles, with a ten minute sit on the bench to eat half a banana, and half a scone.

Coming back through the playing field there was a pheasant picking some bugs out of the grass. They have beautiful markings.
On the home stretch, I chatted with Helen and Steve. She was gathering the fallen leaves to put them in the bin, and he was changing the brake pads on his car.
Almost home and I came across Angela putting her bins out on the front. Her hands were absolutely filthy after pulling up a load of weeds from her front garden. She will not wear gloves for mucky jobs.
Dinner tonight was a spud in the microwave with some pasta salad, lettuce, and beetroot.
That's ya lot for today. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Gorgeous looking pheasant! My sister in law, M, has two wild turkeys which visit in Maryland. Nicknamed Melania and Donald, they seem to come from a nearby sanctuary but since M has many bird feeders we suspect they followed the crowd which flies over for a feed.
